The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 30 mph, the service engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle started to lose power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the led brain speed sensor failed and needed replacement. The dealer (sebring Ford in sebring, Florida) was contacted by phone, but the vehicle was not taken in for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

When driving and you make slight turns and go back to straighten wheel out the steering locks up for a few seconds. From all the research I have done it seems like the electronic power steering assist is the issue. I noticed this to happen as we were driving through the mountains. I see online others having the same issue. It is very dangerous. The wheel gets very hard to hold onto and I would hate to have to be in a big turn and can't turn the wheel back especially if we are going at a normal speed. This will act up at anytime on any type of road. From research this can be quiet expensive for the repair, as it is causing other things to be affected that may need repairs as well.

2011 F150 steering failure, when failed steering failed stability control and steering went. While making turn steering would " lock" preventing tempary control of pickup, before completing trip power assist went totally out. Contacted Ford they state that the power assist needs to be replaced from description alone, they also had recalled multiple other vehicles for this issue how ever the F 150 is not one of those and it will cost 3 K to fix.... umm if all your other vehicles are doing this and this one is doing the same thing then its a defect! the only thing that helped me prevent the accident from happening was my training as an evo ( emergency vehicle operator) at the time of failure I was turning in front of semi, if I would not have taken the ditch and prevented measures this would have been a quad fatality. Truck is parked at a dress given unable to drive home

This week I had a total failure of my epas(electric power assisted steering) in a 2011 F150. I'm very thankful that this happened while I was in a parking lot on a military base. I didn't have the slightest clue on what was going on with my vehicle until I had to do a little research and the over following concerns reported about the epas shocked me! being a mother of two little boys I've very great full that this did not happen while I was driving on the highway. Ford needs to address this concern because the outcome could have been very bad for my family.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. On several occasions, the lights on the instrument panel randomly illuminated off and on. The doors made a dinging noise; however, none of them were ajar. In addition, the parking brake indicator randomly illuminated. The contact also stated that the doors failed to lock from the inside and the contact had to use the key to manually lock the doors from the outside. On another occasion, the vehicle would not start. The contact stated that the vehicle was diagnosed at a battery shop where it was determined that the faulty body control module drained the battery. The vehicle was taken to jeff Ford of pullman (2590 S grand ave, pullman, wa 99163, (509) 334-6000) where it was diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

Rear sliding glass window defroster stopped working around 90000 miles, Ford dealer says I have to purchase a new rear glass. Transmission downshifts feeling as if someone ran into the rear of the vehicle. Traveling on I-10 at approximately 80 miles an hour went to pass a slower moving vehicle, when I accelerated to pass the transmission down shifted into 3 gear almost causing me to lose control. Transmission has a problem (no notice from Ford) talked to several owners having similar transmission problems.

My 2011 F150 rear window pane broke about 1 minute after turning on the rear defrost as I was driving down my street. This needs to be recalled as it is a very dangerous situation to have a window breaking directly over the rear seats. Kids and passengers are being put in a dangerous situation by entering the backseat. This is clearly a problem as others have stated. Ford and my extended warranty will not cover the window unless it is diagnosed, however I have contacted 5 dealerships who said they are unable to diagnose a problem like this. I can no longer have anyone ride in my truck in the backseat.

I was stopped on a single lane street at a stop sign, waiting to enter a two lane road with shoulders. I was going to turn left onto the highway. All traffic from the left had passed. There was still one vehicle coming from the right, but it was still far enough away that I had plenty of time to pull out and accelerate. I took my foot off the brake and I began to give the truck gas to pull out. I only traveled several feet when the truck died. It just stopped running, as if I had shut the key off while moving. No sounds of any kind or any warning. It just died. I was facing across the road in the middle of the first lane heading straight towards the other side. I think the road was slightly slopped because I had just enough momentum to get across as I was fighting to turn the truck onto the shoulder. If I wasn't able to turn the truck I would of ended up in a small gully on the other side. Luckily the driver of the approaching car from my right was alert, and had enough time to go behind me. This could of ended badly. I had the truck towed to my dealer. They stated the problem was with a fuse (#27) for the pump relay, and that there was a tsb.

While driving my 2011 F150 supercrew cab on a 30 degree evening, I turned on the rear defroster. Within a few minutes, a passenger in the back seat heard a crackling sound and then a loud pop, the passenger side of the 3 section rear window had shattered, within a few hours the glass from this window had started to fall out and enter into the cab, and onto the seats. This happened on 12/30/2016 at approximately 6pm, speed was about 35 mph and no other traffic was on the road.

My 2011 F150 FX4 has been acting up with the transmission. This has happened multiple times and the dealer is unable to replicate it. So far they have changed all of th coil packs, reset the transmission, changed all the spark plugs in a hope that was the issue. Well it's not. The truck lunges forward with loud bangs and grinding noises. RPM's go up and down and the truck sounds as if I downshifted from 6th gear to first. Then I can only go 40 miles an hour with high rpms. Engine lights have lit up and now a wrench. This is crazy my gauges don't work this is dangerous.
