I was driving 65MPH. The Change Oil Soon Message come on. I pressed Reset to clear the message. Within seconds the truck jerked twice and when I looked at the dash I was in 1st gear doing over 5500 RPM. The speedometer showed I was not moving but no other indications of error on the dash. No Wrench showing this time. I pulled over and turned the truck off. Restarted the engine and everything was just fine the whole way home from there. I drove the truck to the dealership (Lawton, OK) to check the truck for me on Thursday but they seemed to think if the check engine light was not on there was no urgency. They know it is an F150 from 2011. They want me to return on the 16th for an appointment.

According to the dealership service center, the exhaust manifolds are the reason the turbochargers have failed. The exhaust manifolds are not covered by warranty, so they are declining to repair the turbochargers. I really like this truck, but I"m very disappointed with the warranty company. I also think it's shameful will go cheap and not fix it. Ford seems to do that from time to time.

12/6-Driving car at 47 mph, abruptly slowed down, resulting in car throwing me forward with my head over the steering wheel. My chest was sore the next day from the seat belt. 12/7-googled issue/saw a recall existed. Called Capital Ford, Wilmington NC-explained issue in detail and concern for my safety. Advised to wait until 1/6 for warranty appt. Called back again-no openings. Called Burgaw Ford-no appts until later in January. Called Ford customer service. First Rep. placed me on hold and did not come back. Second rep.-explained, event details, she told me she would call me back after talking to the location. No call was ever received. 12/8-Called Capital Ford-explained-asked if there were any cancellations-told no and they never received cancellations. Called Ford customer service-Agent called all locations within 75 minutes of the area with no luck regarding appts except 1 avail. 70 mins away on 12/17. In every call I clearly communicated my concern for my safety. Advised, I have a required work trip this Sunday-Wed. in SC-so my car is needed. Pleaded for assistance getting my car fixed, a rental car or guidance on the reimbursement process if corrected by someone else. Uniform answers, Must wait until 1/6, no rental, no reimbursement. My assumption by Ford's actions is the car is safe to drive-despite my personal experience indicating otherwise. Unclear why all are so dismissive of the recall issue?

On certain days, usually humid days, when you approach a hill and give it gas, a wrench appears on the display and the truck goes into Limp mode. It may go for weeks without doing this, but when it happens, you may get killed. Especially, if you are on a highway. You have no power to move the truck. You are a sitting duck. I took in to a service station and the cleaned the Throttle body, but it still happens. If you drive slowly without changing accelerator position the truck will drive but too slowly. It happens far too much.

I first noticed a rapid chirping sound from the engine when accelerating on a hill while pulling a trailer. The pickup had about 135,000 miles on it at the time. This was usually associated with an automatic downshift due to the load and the hill in order to maintain speed. The sound increased over a period of a year. Then I started noticing the sound when starting with a cold engine. The sound would diminish after the engine warmed a bit, but it didn't really disappear. I finally took this pickup to an auto clinic (Sequim Automobile Clinic, Sequim, WA) with 153,000 miles on it. The manager, Marv, later told me that they found the driver's side exhaust manifold warped. He said the noise was coming from a gap at the rear end of the manifold. He improved the condition by tightening bolts, but he said the only way to really make it right would be to replace the exhaust manifold. I went to YouTube and found videos of others with this problem. Their suggestion was to replace the exhaust manifold with one that was superior in design and construction in order to keep from having the problem, again. They indicated that the problem was due to heat generated by the engine and turbo chargers in this 3.5 L Ecoboost Ford engine. The manager at the auto clinic said he hadn't seen the problem from others with this engine, but the others weren't putting the engine under as much load as I am. I'm pulling a trailer of about 8500 pounds. I'm pulling it over passes about 5,000 feet in elevation and in a one month period traveling about 3,100 miles. The manufacturer rates this particular pickup to pull a trailer up to 11,500 pounds. I've also watched videos of major endurance testing by Ford that indicated no problems after over 150,000 miles of operation under grueling conditions. I don't know if there is a safety issue here, but I know of no other place to report it. Certainly the exhaust manifold should be able to handle the heat generated in normal operation.

The rr turn signal does not work at all. The rr brake light does not work at all. The rf turn signal flashes fast. The rf running light does not stay lit when using the remote to unlock the vehicle. I have checked all bulbs, that are fine, fuses fine. I should note, till it is fixed I can't get it inspected, and therefore can't get it registered.

The most recent incident resulted in transmission having a harsh downshift to first gear causing vehicle to jerk and engine revs up. This has happened several times in the past including a few days before taking it in for the recall repair in 2019. ( recall 19V -075). This problem, according to Ford, is due to intermittent failure of the output speed sensor ( part of the molded leadframe in the transmission). Two latest incidents occurred on a city street. Have had at least one occasion on an expressway where vehicle had very jerky transmission shift while in cruise control. Have complained about this to Ford and took the vehicle in on two occasions ( see attached invoices). The problem has never been resolved and no warning messages or trouble codes have been found during the repairs. Ford issued an extended warranty coverage ( program # 19N01) on May 2019 and my vehicle still qualifies. I took the vehicle in this week to request they replace the molded leadframe since the problem is still present. They refuse to replace the part because they say no trouble codes are present. I have found others on Ford forums who say they have the same problem and they also have no trouble codes stored either. Ford needs to acknowledge that the lack of trouble codes does not ensure the problem is not present. I continue to have concerns that my family's safety and others is jeopardized by Ford not agreeing to take responsibility and making the necessary repairs. They themselves say in the recall notice that "this condition could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash."

I have a 2011 Ford F-150. The timing chain has stretched abnormally, causing the mileage and power to be reduced, and causing the engine to make a terrible noise (akin to a diesel starting on a cold day) when it is started, lasting for 5-10 seconds. The 2011 F-150 3.5L ecoboost timing chain stretching problem is well-known across Ford user forums. There have been so many forum posts and complaints regarding this issue, yet Ford has not done anything to fix the issue. This is a systemic design issue and Ford needs to take ownership and provide a fix for owners that are affected by it.
