When getting on the highway with pedal all the way down start to get shutter at 4100 RPM through 2nd gear and then when it is in 3rd gear at the same RPM it will shutter even worse and then sometimes the check engine light will come on and start blinking for up to a min and then the truck will not move at all.

This truck has a very bad habit of loosing power and throttle response after driving for extended periods in heavy rain/high humidity. When mild-accelerating to get to the highway speed limit of 75 my Ford F150 ecoboost started shaking at 55 mph and at 2,500 RPM my truck starts shaking and was unable to control. I had to exit the highway and drive at a lower speed I figured it was another engine misfire that I had replaced recently on 8/2/13. I then proceed to try again on the freeway and at 55pmh it again started to shake and rattle cause me to drive on the feeder road for the remainder of my trip to work.

Six months after I bought my truck I noticed a shuttering and hesitation while I was on the highway. The shuttering happens when I am cruising at 55-60 mph. More noticeably when the truck is climbing a slight incline on the road while lightly accelerating to maintain 60 mph. I had the dealer look at it 3 times in the last 2 years. The first time they reprogrammed the transmission and the computer. It did not solve the problem. Brought it back the second time and I went for a ride with the technician and he noticed the shuttering. He said there was no engine light and no codes to find out what the problem is. Finally the third time they said Ford is aware of the problem and there engineers are trying to find a solution. I also had problems with my transmission. I was slowing down to come to a stop and the transmission downshifted so hard I thought I got rear ended by the vehicle behind me.

The first time this happened, my husband was pulling out into a center turn lane in order to merge with traffic and the motor cut out and bogged down. Just four days later, I had the same experience where the motor completely cut out while I was going through a yield sign, slowing down, and then getting on the accelerator to increase speed. I counted between 3-5 seconds before the truck started accelerating again. This is very dangerous and had someone been right behind me it could've been a bad wreck. It happened to me this first time right after I picked my truck up from the dealership and them telling me my VIN didn't qualify for the tsb with replacing the cac (intercooler) and adding the air deflector plate. I have since gone to a second dealership and they are performing the tsb for me after having my truck for 5 days now, and being able to reproduce the problem easily. I hope this fixes it. I've already had a check engine light come on and my driver's side catalytic converter was replaced. I've had numerous leaks all under the 36,000 mile warranty - front main seal, transmission leak, rear diff leak, and even some deteriorating rubber gaskets in the doors, and am seriously questioning Ford's quality these days.

This truck has the 3.5 liter V6 ecoboost engine. The truck is company owned by wl hall co. I was accelerating while attempting to pass another vehicle. The vehicle lost power then started to shake, shudder and jerk. The check engine light came on and the vehicle's engine started to run very roughly. This happened again at approximately 9,700 miles, 28,000 miles and 60,000 miles. Ford has attempted to fix the issue three times. The truck will be going in for service for this issue a fourth time. Due to improper performance, this issue almost caused an accident this last time. There have also been numerous incidents over the life of the vehicle where it did not shift properly and dropped power, but then the vehicle corrected itself.

The first problem was while driving on the interstate at around 70mph it felt like I was rear ended and pretty hard. I looked around and there were no cars nearby. In about 2 minutes it did it again and again the started to be intermittent. I took it to the shop the replaced coil pack and plugs and sent me on my way. I did not make it 2 miles down the road when the engine started to shudder. Took truck back they kept it for weeks then said it was fixed. They had installed the shield per the tsb and again sent me on my way. Within 1 mile it did it again and I waited to take it back as I needed my truck for work and they were giving me tiny SUV loaner cars. This time they replaced intercooler after weeks and weeks of it sitting there. This happened approx. 12 times. During this time I sent letters about my concerns to every person on the board of directors at Ford with no response. The customer service manager for Ford not only avoided my calls and would not reply to me then I tried to escalate above her and reached a very arrogant jerk that blew me off. Once finally getting a reply from [xxx] I got the reply I have expected. The corporate blow off! Ford does not let you get past csm. This has been going on for over 7 months. I had enough so decided to try to sell this death trap and dealerships were low balling me do to the known issues. When leaving a dealership and trying to cross a rural hwy the truck lost power and I was nervously slamming the gas pedal to the floor and nothing happened. I had a dump truck coming at me blowing its air horns. The truck started to go but barely limping. This has now happened 3 more times and Ford denied this has happened to other trucks and that they knew of the problem. They now will not even work on the problem period I was told they are not allowed to try to repair these trucks at all. I have a very dangerous truck. We were traveling on a two lane road. We were following a slow moving tractor trailer. We had been traveling for about 3 hours. It had rained earlier and was humid. I accelerated to pass and was partially around the truck when the engine of my truck started misfiring and lost power. Luckily, I was able to limp it along and get back into my lane before having a problem with oncoming traffic. The motor in my truck is the 3.5 liter ecoboost. I have seen reports of this happening to this motor, but this is the first time it happened so dramatically to mine. I don't recall having traveled for any distance in these conditions with this truck. The truck is scheduled to have this problem looked at. It was explained to me that there are different repairs depending on how the truck is equipped. This was a very dangerous event and I believe this should have been taken care of before the incident happened. I have read of a possible recall of the trucks with these motors to rectify the problem. It is evident to me that this needs to be done before someone isn't as lucky as we were.

While merging into traffic on the expressway today in miami, at about 35 mph, I had to accelerate to get out of the merging lane, at which time (for the third time since I bought the truck in 2011) the truck lost all power to the engine (a 3.5L ecoboost) and began to sputter, shake, and decelerate. Luckily for myself and the other drivers on the road I did leave a sufficient gap between myself and the car to my rear to give that vehicle time to react to what equates to a vehicle pulling out in front of him/her and gently pressing the brakes without the brake lights engaging. My truck hovered between 25 and 30 mph for about 30 seconds with it doing the sputtering and slowing thing each time I attempted to accelerate during that time period. After pretty much coasting for 30 or so seconds, the truck sprang back to life and drove as advertised. From what I've read, this is not an isolated incident and I (as well as others) believe Ford should be held accountable for this defect. I'm not looking for a new truck, I'd just like the problem fixed. Even though no deaths or injuries have been reported due to this "yet", you can see the danger of having your engine loose power when you need it the most. Unfortunately for their customers, all Ford seems to be concerned with is the loss of a buck......not the loss of a life!!! I was traveling in the righthand lane of the East bound side of I24 around manchester, tn. My speed was approximately 65-70 mph. I suddenly came up upon slower traffic in the same lane and signaled to pass the slower traffic. As I looked in my mirrors for traffic behind me I noticed another vehicle closing on me in a hurry. I depressed the accelerator to gain speed and make the pass. The vehicle lurched and the motor suddenly shut down and wouldn't accelerate in the middle of my pass. The vehicle behind me locked their brakes and managed to slow their vehicle down before possibly colliding with me. I let the slower traffic on the right pass and signaled to get back in the right hand lane. This has happened twice to me and I think there is a real possibility this could endanger lives and property if not corrected. My 2011 Ford F-150 is equipped with the 3.5 liter ecoboost V6.

Poor gas mileage. Window sticker says 23 mpg highway, best I ever got is 16 mpg, with cruise set at 65 mph on flat level highway. Had at dealer, 4 times, they updated computer, changed turbo intercooler and they still cant improve my fuel economy. Around town I get 12 mpg. Bad turbo lag when pulling out low power, dealer said its how turbos work. Doors rattle, speakers crackle, rear end springs make a creaking sound. 4 wheel drive makes a loud growling, sounds like gears are not meshed right. I would not recommend a new F-150 to any one. Nothing but trips to the dealer and let downs.
