While driving the steering wheel gets stuck and locks up. I have to then slow down or stop in the middle of the road and turn the steering wheel to the opposite direction. This has happened many times, and it doesn't matter if I'm on a country road, city street or interstate while driving. I have told the dealership several times about this problem since I purchased the truck in May 2017. It continues to be an issue. I am afraid I'm going to get rear ended or hit another vehicle when this problem occurs.it doesn't matter what speed I am traveling either.

problem #250

Mar 022018

F-150

  • 130,000 miles
I was driving and making a turn when the steering felt like the power steering fluid was low. It became harder to turn and after completing a turn I had to use both hands, hand over hand, to get the car straight again. Picture turning left from a county road onto a state highway, and when you want to straighten out the truck it continues into oncoming traffic. This seems worse when the vehicle is cold versus after it has warmed up. This six cylinder engine does not have hydraulic power steering with fluid, bet rather an electrical power assist motor.
