The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact received a recall letter from Ford motors. The NHTSA campaign number was unknown. The contact stated that the transmission sensor was replaced at glockner southpoint Ford (155 co rd 406, South point, oh 45680, (740) 894-3673) in February of 2018 per the recall. While driving 50 mph, the transmission downshifted and the vehicle slowed down without depressing the brake pedal. A wrench symbol and the check engine indicator illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the transmission sensor was replaced again. It was unknown if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 75,000.

I have several occasion for the past couple of years of my F150 not starting when turning the key on. I have taken it to the Ford dealership several times but they couldn't determine the problem. I've had several occasion of the low oil pressure light turn on and the vehicle has stalled. Just recently I was making a right turn and at a small angle and the truck completely stalled out while driving. I had to coast to a stop without any power steering until it finally stopped. I tried to crank it over but it wouldn't start. After about 5 minutes it finally started without issue. I've had it stall twice while I lost total control of my truck and it is extremely dangerous. I had to tow it to my dealership again today. I think I may have finally found the issue which may point to a faulty 20amp fuel pump fuse. I found some articles pointing to fuse 27 and sure enough it was burnt on one side. I am completely shocked that Ford is aware of this issue and not issuing a mandatory recall until all these trucks are fixed. Had this been on the freeway it could have been a complete failure of the vehicle which may have caused a serious or life threatening accident. Please force a recall.

When pulling out of a parking lot the instrument cluster lcd goes black, assisted power steering stops working making it hard to steer. Then after a few seconds comes back on and steering rapidly corrects to current position. So far has mostly happened during the first few minutes after running. So far this has only happened once while driving on the highway during a straight stretch.

When driving under slower speeds and turning. After making the turn. My steering gets tight and I have to manually force my steering to go back straight. It seams after some driving it may loosen up. But it dose do it later on other turns. Some times it is hard to turn into a corner. I have to manually force the wheel to make the turn. This always happens while in motion.

Electronic power steering quit working making it extremely hard to steer vehicle. Operator of the vehicle would need to apply extreme pressure to steering wheel at any speed to keep vehicle on the road or within lane of travel. I noticed this issue driving on city street when I went to turn at a corner. This issue would make recovery for skid in winter weather extremely difficult.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle then lost power. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay box failed and caused the fuel pump to burn. The mechanic stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called cavalier Ford Lincoln greenbrier (1515 S military hwy, chesapeake, va 23320, phone: 757) 424-1111) and was informed that he would be responsible for the diagnostic and repair fees. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they knew about the failure and, in order for the vehicle to be repaired, there would be a fee. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. The VIN was not available.

I purchased this truck new, I welcome the factory warrenty rept. To come drive it just a couple of miles to see just how unsafe it is to drive

My power steering went out while trying to leave a parking lot which resulted in me almost hitting another parked vehicle. While moving, the steering would lock up for a second or two before allowing me to adjust the wheel. After taking a turn, the steering locks out in the direction of the turn and makes it very difficult to get the truck back driving straight. Apparently this is going to cost me over 1,500$ to get fixed. Ford has done recalls of thousands of other vehicles for this same issue, so why not include the F-150 in the recalls? people shouldn't have to pay almost 2 grand out of pocket for faulty parts. This is a safety issue and it is going to lead to someone being seriously injured or killed.

2011 Ford F-150 lariat approximately 77,000 miles. Power steering assist warning comes on and off along with the power steering going out. So far it has only happened while stationary so other than being difficult to steer there hasn't been an issue but if it happens when turning it could definitely cause a serious crash. After a quick google search I found this is a tremendous issue for this year model truck. I cannot believe there has not been a recall issued especially in light of Ford recalling thousands of other models for problems with the steering assist.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 35 mph, the steering column seized. The contact was able to maneuver to the middle of the road and manually restart the vehicle, which temporarily allowed the vehicle to be functional. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to maples Ford (900 main St, warsaw, mo) where it was diagnosed that the steering gearbox was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 33,885.. updated 8/20/18

I have a 2011 F150 with 65K miles. I noticed extra play in the steering at just under 60K miles. I had power steering module recalibrated. I thought this fixed the problem. Approx 3mos later I am having the same issue. Loss of control at high speeds and corners. I had alignment done today which did not fix the problem. Dealership said I needed a $1600 steering gear replaced. They couldnt tell me why this would fail with low miles unless it was a faulty part. After researching consumer complaints online it looks like there are many complaints about accidents on low mile F150S of this year due to steering failure. When I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive if I could not get this part right away, ($1600) they said that it is not unheard of for the steering to fail. They could not tell me why a recall for safety has not been done.

My truck would intermittanly make a chirping noise and would temporarily be hard to steer while driving around town. One of the warning lights came on so I took it into the Ford dealer. The first time, which occurred in June, they couldn't find anything wrong. The second time I took it in (7/21/17), the Ford dealer called and told me the electronic stability control was shot and needed to be replaced. They told me that I was lucky I brought it in as it was hard to steer. I have did an internet search and found this problem has caused Ford trucks to crash. I wrote a letter to Ford detailing the problem (attached) and sent them links to complaints from other Ford truck owners.

When turning hard left or right, sitting still and while driving on highway, the 'traction control systems warning light comes on 'need to have serviced' I have to stop the vehicle, turn off ignition, open the driver door, start and stop vehicle twice for light to go off. I, ve been told by several Ford mechinics that the entire steering system has to be replaced and I 'm fortunate that steering hasn't yet locked up... quoted approx $2000 to replace electric steering.
