The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the transmission downshifted into first gear independently and the vehicle stalled. The service wrench light was illuminated. The contact also stated that various sensors and the instrument panel became inoperable as the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that she pulled over and turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the sensors became operable. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was made aware that the powertrain control module needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on back order. The vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting parts for the repair. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
