The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train). The contact took the vehicle to bill mccandless Ford (8416 sharon-mercer rd, mercer, pa 16137, (888) 375-7857) two months before he received the notice for other unknown recall repairs. The dealer stated that the manufacturer would reimburse the contact for the repairs. The manufacturer denied the reimbursement a week later because the initial recall was for a lead frame replacement. The failure mileage was 85,000.

I have brought my truck in previous times when it was under warranty, I described the same issue every time about a sudden downshift. I have this documented in service sheets I have obtained from them. They said they couldn't replicate the issue or stated it was a reprogramming issue. Over time the downshift issue has damaged the transmission and finally led to it completely failing. I was scheduled to have the recall service on Tuesday 4-23-2019, on 4-18-19 I was driving on hwy 62 at 35mph the truck did the sudden downshift nearly causing me to be rearended, after the downshift my truck lost all power and it had to be pushed into a parking lot. Then I had it towed to the heritage Ford dealership. The issue which is finally been addressed as a recall has led to the transmission failure. I have been quoted $4500 for the transmission replacement. I would appreciate any help. Thank you, information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I have taken my truck in to the dealership for 2 years now on multiple occasions with a loud screeching noise coming from the transmission. The dealership replaced many parts outside of the transmission per the recommendation of the warranty company. The truck is now not in safe driving conditions. It is now dropping down in first gear at 65 mph. I see where there was a recall on 2011-2013 select vehicles with the same problem. The shifting down to first happens all the time now and has put me in a difficult situation on the highway with nearly crashing. When it downshifts at speeds between 45-65 it will not continue to drive safely, it will only go at low speed in a jerking motion. The service director at capital Ford in charlotte, nc dealership where I bought it from said that they have made many attempts to fix it but have not yet pin pointed the problem. The truck is now out of warranty and is stating that I will have to pay for a new transmission. Please advise.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact took the vehicle to wynn odom Ford (4743 Washington St, la grange, nc 28551, (888) 452-6761) to be repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (power train). The service manager informed the contact that there were more advanced failures than the recall repair and advised him to call the manufacturer to get further authorization to repair the vehicle. When the contact called the manufacturer on March 25, 2019, he was informed that the recall repair had been completed and they could not assist. The contact was promised to speak with a service manager who said that the recall only authorized the reprogramming and further authorization and a case number were needed to get the repairs completely done. When the vehicle accelerated to shift into a higher gear, it shifted into neutral instead and slowed down to a lower speed. The contact was not assisted or assigned a case number. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was denied being able to speak to a supervisor. The failure mileage was 99,500.. consumer received second recall was issued. Consumer took the vehicle to recall serviced. Vehicle still not shifting properly, in fact it seems to be worse. Serviced 5-28-19.

I bought it with @ 10,000 miles on the odometer. I have had nothing but [xxx] with it from day one. First off I put two new front rotors and brake pads all the way around and both idler pulleys were squealing so I replaced them. Then at @ 19,000 miles I had to replace both cvj half shafts. Now at 45,000 miles they are both shot again the cvj half shafts are. On the first of January this year I was driving down the road and the vehicle was running good suddenly it began to cut out and the power fell off on its face. I purchased an obd11 code reader to try and diagnose the problem. It tells me that random misfire detected and that cylinders 5 6 7 8 are misfiring. Let me just say that 4 months later after going thru everything from the plugs wires injectors and replacing the fuel pump module assembly it is still not running and I'm at my end of trying to get the peice of $*** running. There is no way in [xxx] at 45,000 miles on the vehicle that I should be having all the [xxx] with the vehicle. I live in New Mexico and we do have a lemon law here. I am beyond the shadow of a doubt sure that this truck is a [xxx] lemon. Truck currently has a recall on it due to it going into first gear unexpectedly. Took truck to closest dealership two weeks ago and had the recall service completed. Was told to expect my check engine light to be on for three or four days. When it stayed on a week I called them back to discuss the light still being on. Rescheduled a follow up appointment for April 12. On April 5 and April 7 the truck had the same problem that the recall was supposed to fix. Going approx 50mph when the truck went into first gear with wheel hop and some fish tailing. When this problem occurs the instrument panel will basically go to all zero's and it takes the truck being turned off for the computer to reset and allow truck to drive normally. Just wanted to document here since truck goes back to dealership tomorrow.

Experienced unexpected downhift into first gear at highway speed. Transmission was erratic in gear selection with corresponding tachometer and spedometer oscillations.had six occurences with various degrees of severity.called Ford help line.all they said was that there were no recalls on this vehicle. Vehicle is " unsafe " to drive. Got the truck into the Ford dealer and hadf it coded. Truck was showing codes for defective output speed sensor. The " lead frame " had to be replaced at " my expense ". no reprogramming was done because there was " no recall " at that time. The root cause was repaired but there was still the possibility of a violent down shift event. I have since received notification of a expanded recall to reprogram and prevent the dramatic and violent downshift issue. I am going to get the truck in asap to get this done. The original recall language stated that if the vehicle was having the downshift issues and tested positive for defective output speed sensor that Ford would " replace the lead frame and reprogram " free of charge and also warrantee the components for I think 150,000 miles. I feel that I have had to make this vehicle " safe to drive " at my expense. The real fix is to replace the lead frame and reprogram. I was just lucky that there was no oncoming traffic when I experienced the dramatic down shift into first gear and had to manuver to the shoulder of the road. I feel bad for any one else that has to go through this. Ford is getting off on the " cheap ' by not doing the " complete " fix. Very !!!!!!!!! unhappy Ford owner.
