problem #2

May 012016

F-150 FX4 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,954 miles

The temperature settings on the dual climate control don't match. The passenger side blows warmer than the driver side, so if they are both set at 20*C, the a/c will be running on the driver side, while the passenger side blows hot. Turning the passenger side down will get the a/c to kick in. Sometimes the difference is 3*C, sometimes it takes as much as a 5*C difference in temp setting to get the passenger side to blow cold along with the driver side.

I have not pursued a fix for this, other than running the zones at different temperatures.

problem #1

F-150 XLT 5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,000 miles

I noticed problem at 49000 miles, but it was cold winter so it probably occured even earlier. Dealer is 100 miles away so I did not get the truck into dealer until after 50,000 miles. Dealer charged me $80 to tell me what problem was, like I didnt already know, then said it would be another +$700 for a new climate control module. Not a warranty item, really? $700 to fix heater temp control, really?
