problem #2

Apr 232016

F-150 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 41,000 miles

When the body of the truck heats up, the driver's door handle required two yanks to open the door. If it was cold outside or if it was the first thing in the morning, no problems. Brought it to the dealer 4 times after they "couldn't replicate it" and eventually they replaced the entire actuator assembly inside the door and it's been fine ever since.

F-150 F150 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,500 miles

The driver's side door handle had to be pulled and then pulled a second time in order to open the door. This only seemed to occur in warm weather, not in the cold weather. Replaced by warranty, but still another of many issues with this truck.

Also the door seal on the driver's side was coming off and had to be replaced - warrantied as well.

I have various other complaints regarding the alignment for this same vehicle, brake rotor issues at this same mileage that will be entered separately, and the driver's side door handle, molding/seal falling off driver's side door, AC not cool enough on days over 90 degrees, ECOboost V6 not getting the mileage promised and especially not during the winter months.

This is my first AND LAST Ford truck!

Update from Jul 17, 2014: This is fixed by warranty. No longer a complaint
