ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta. Firestone guys on phone says to go by gas tank and listen. No sound of the electric pump. 'Ah' he says. 'It's the fuel pump not working'. Well luck got me going again by pulling out a 20A tiny fuse that was burned up and sticking it back in. Running and then dead again soon after when trying to restart. This was the third round of this when I found out what it was. Took to Ford and a tech knew exactly what it was. He relocated the fuse to another 20A slot but a beefier fuse- all good since then (a few years now). I actually had an employee call in with his 3.7L V6 (I have 5.0 V8) and I went to pick him up, looked at his fuse box, and got it running that day. Same problem for his just two weeks after mine was fixed. Crazy. A few techs know about it but not all. $270 seems a lot but it worked and I am happy.
