2013 F150 Ford parked outside on driveway. Sunny with temperature roughly 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Remote start used to warm up truck. Walking out to truck when a loud bang/gunshot type of sound happened without warning. Walked around truck and saw that driver's side of the power sliding rear window (3 sections) had started to spider crack. This part of the window then continued to crack until the whole section was spider cracked. (the sharp edges of glass were on the inside of vehicle window.) the vehicle was taken to dealer for evaluation but was told it is out of warranty. The dealer estimated replacement cost is $1,200-1,300 usd. (parts and labor).

In April 2014 our sunroof exploded as we were driving on the highway. We took it to the Ford dealership where we purchased the truck and they said that they had never heard of a sunroof exploding for no reason. After further research it looks like this has happened to other people. Ford took no responsibility and charged us $1035.05 to replace the sunroof. Scared us to death when the sunroof exploded. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Rear window defroster does not work. I have read numerous reports of a defect in the wiring of the rear defroster that causes rear windows to shatter in colder weather. Dealer says the entire window and system needs to be replaced due to a faulty switch. Ford does not accept responsibility for the defect. This is a potential safety hazard as the rear window panel could shatter while driving. Rear defroster mechanism is linked to side mirror defroster mechanism, so the only way to defrost side mirrors is to activate the entire system. I am filing this complaint in advance of an event such as the window shattering on my truck in order to force the nhtsb to make Ford issue a recall on these vehicles to correct the problem in an appropriate manner.

On September 7, 2015 while turning onto traffic the truck locked up in first gear and will not shift even though the accelarator was being pushed. The truck was jerking but will not shift gears. RPM and speed remained the same as well. This is the fourth time it happens and I have taken in to the Ford dealership where I bought it but nothing is done.

Turned on rear window defogger. After 4 minutes of operation, left section (behind left rear passenger) of rear window exploded (shattered) with loud bang. Local Ford dealer says issue is not covered. Internet research says this happens routinely. Glass replacement company says they will not warrant replacement as the replacement "genuine" Ford glass has been "red flagged" in their system due to replacements failing for same reason. Got up and it was frosty and 24 digress outside so I remotely started my F-150 Ford truck went out 10 min later and got on drivers seat and heard a loud bang as if rock had hit windshield. Got out looked all around but did not see what had caused the loud noise finally gave up and went about my day. The next day about noon I looked in my rear view mirror and seen the rear window behind driver was shattered in million pieces but still in place. Window is also tinted so hard to see from outside. Took clear packaging tape and put several pieces on inside and outside to keep intact for now. Went to put preasure on tape to adhere to pieces and got several fine cuts in fingers. Contacted Ford sealed and said first time he had heard of this happening. Thinking that problem might cause this to happen again to the new windshield had to pay dealer to check if there was a electrical problem with controls. Said everything seemed fine and warranty was past and could not do anything to help financially when I called back to get reassurance that they would waranty replacement window if it happened again was told that he checked and this has been more comon then he thought, 4 this year already at their dealership

My Ford 150 V8 supercab at 32 miles per hour starts shaking the whole truck and vibrates. It does this regardless of road conditions and or gear the truck is in. It only goes away when you drop below 32 or go faster than 35.

The truck wheels locked up and engine shut off while traveling at approximately 40 mph, coming to a very sudden stop. Truck would not restart for about 5 minutes. During this malfunction the truck is completely uncontrollable. This happened two more times and was at a dealer for diagnosis for several weeks. Unable to find anything, it was returned to us. The same thing happened again, this time causing an accident because the truck hit a guard rail.

The truck I bought has been shaking since the day I picked it up and brought it home. At 55 mph the truck has a distinct wobble. It has been back to sharpnack Ford twice for the problem and I was told they drove four other trucks on their lot and they all do the same thing. Also they took the tires off of mine and swapped them with another truck with the same result. I was told they took the drive shaft apart and rebuilt it, still no fix. After two times back to the shop, I was told by the head mechanic that Ford told him no more repairs will be done to this truck. I can see the bed wobble as I am going down the road and am confident this is where the problem is. Ford is not willing to do anything about it claiming the frequency is within specification limits. I have also driven a 2012 and a 2013 and both of them do the same thing. I'm not sure this is a problem that will cause imminent danger to anyone unless you factor in the"road rage" someone will have after paying 45K for a brand new piece of garbage that the manufacturer refuses to do anything about to fix.

On the Ford F-150 pickup truck with the "XLT chrome package" the build up of snow and ice on the running boards thrown up from the the front tires can, will and does pose a very real possibility of leg, hip, back and neck injury with the possibility of death or paralysis from striking ones head against the running board. All pickup trucks with running boards and no front tire mud flaps feature the same unsafe conditions endangering hundreds of thousands of vehicle owners and passengers living and driving in wintery conditions. This same problems have no doubt already caused injury to thousands and been the cause of deaths or paralysis in others over the years. Unless there is some form of intervention in this unsafe sales tactic, the N H S a, Ford and other truck makers will be condoning these injuries and deaths, no part of a vehicle, neither standard or dealership installed extra should be exempt from basic safety standards. Front wheel mud flaps should be required on trucks with running boards, regardless of country of origin at no extra cost to the end buyer.
