Please see a portion of my jun16 message that I sent to Ford concerning a "door lock? problem with both trucks that I own. Both trucks now have the same problem with the drivers-side read doors. The JU16 response I received from Ford was essentially that ?we don?T have a recall notice in place yet". I find that response lacking a proper level of concern. I ended up repairing both problems at my own expense. ========================= jun15 message to Ford: My 2013 Ford F150 lariat (VIN [xxx]) has a rear right door that will not open from the outside or the inside. This problem started about six weeks ago (I.e; mid-April 2016). My 2014 Ford F150 limited (VIN [xxx]) now has the exact same problem with the same door (this started about mid-May 2016). My wife had a passenger in her lariat (the mid-April 2016 point where the problem started) and the passenger could not get out of the truck. It was only until my wife unloaded a significant amount of material from the rear-left seat that the passenger was able to exit the truck. This leads me to believe that the problem is a safety issue that needs to be resolved. I searched the internet and it appears that there is no recall associated with this problem. Regardless, I was able to find a significant amount of open source information that described this systemic problem (which occurs not only on F150 trucks), the root cause of the problem (bad wiring workmanship) and the corrective action (rework the wiring). Why isn't there a recall associated with this door latch issues? it appears to have the potential to cause significant personal injury.
