I have owned this F-150 since new and most of its life it has been stored indoors. Recently I noted that any time the vehicle is driven in the rain or left outside while it rains, the rear corners of the cab leaks water. The source of that water is a failed seal surrounding the rear window, which I diagnosed in my shop after removing the headliner and other trim in order to observe the leaking with some water and compressed air. The issue that I noted during the repair was that the airbags that are mounted above the rear passenger windows in the headliner on both sides of the vehicles wicked up moisture that had been caught by the headliner. They were both wet to the touch, which was concerning. Further, the airbag inflator which is mounted in the rear corner post of the vehicle and the seatbelt recoil mechanism both also showed signs that they also recieve moisture from this leak. The vehicle is out of warranty, so there is no manufacturer remedy for the issue unless I were to pay for a complete rear window reseal. I did not have a dealer take a look at this issue at this time. Multiple other owners of F150's of this age have had similar issues with water leaking into the cabin and leaching into the airbags, as described in numberous online forums.

The rear window in my F150 has rear defrost with a power sliding window. The glass panel on the drivers side has spontaneously shattered two time. Once in October 2020 and again in April 2022. On both occasions the glass was spiderwebbed but had not fallen out. There was no indication that the glass had any physical damage from the exterior or interior. Also, the vehicle had been parked the first time while at home and the second time while at work.

Wasn't sure which catagory to put this in so I put it in other. While driving I turned on the rear window defrost and after a couple of mins I heard a large bang, thought something hit the truck but didn't see anything. After stopping to pick up my grandson when I went to back-up I noticed the right side rear window had shattered, have no idea why other than maybe the electric defrost did something. Looked for signs of something hitting it but couldn't find anything or any sign that an object hit the window. When I went online to see what it cost to replace I noticed this has been happening on Ford trucks so I figured I need to put mine on file also.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after pressing the auto start button to start the vehicle moments later a loud popping sound was heard. Upon inspection it was discovered that the driver side rear cabin sliding window was shattered. During the incident the weather temperature was 25 degrees. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer currie motors (2052 w. morthland dr. Valparaiso, indian) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 57,700. The VIN was invalid.

I have a notification light on the dash stating that my left rear door is open, when in fact, it is not. There is a faulty wire I believe that is causing this issue. Also, I cannot lock my entire truck with the key fob because of this issue, and I can only do it manually. I feel that this is a safety issue. Also, my front map lights and the rear window defrost does not work. I live in a cold state (Indiana) so it would be nice to have these electrical issues taken care of. Just like most people, I have children that are frequently in my truck. Nothing has been hit or damaged in any way. This just started happening for the first time in June 2019. I've told my local Ford dealer, but they tell me that since it is not on recall I will have to pay for it out of pocket. I am a disabled veteran, and that's not necessarily the easiest thing for me to do, especially since it is out of warranty. I've though about getting an extended warranty, but how can I be sure that will cover the cost of the repairs? thank you

I was stopped at a stoplight, heard a loud noise, and looked back and my rear window on my F150 was shattered. I got out, looked and it appears nothing hit the window. No dents on the truck or anything. Just shattered glass

While traveling on the highway we saw looked out the rearview mirror and saw white/gray smoke coming up from between the truck bed and the cab of the truck. We exited the freeway. While exiting the white/gray smoke turned to black then flames shot up. We pulled over and got out as the flames continued to grow. We attempted to put out the fire but it grew very fast. The back glass exploded and the entire cab and front of the vehicle was engulfed. 911 was called. Firefighters arrived and put out the fire. The vehicle and contents were a total loss. The fire department reports states that the fire was caused by a mechanical failure in the engine compartment or under the passenger compartment causing flames to show from the back of the vehicle and causing heavy damage to the front of the vehicle and passenger compartment.

Purchased 9/5/16 from West covina Ford dealership. Tried to trade in to caramax for another vehicle. Carmax told me truck had frame damage. They gave me a carfax report and frame damage happened before I purchased vehicle. On 5/26/19, an auto auction announced structural alteration to vehicle. I have attached the paperwork showing this information. I contacted West covina Ford and they told me to hire a lawyer. I was sold a damaged vehicle and now I can't drive it. Please help. I attached the carfax, carmax offer, and vehicle transfer form showing my purchase date.

The skid plate underneath the engine and transmission has inadequate fasteners. The fasteners do not retain the skid plate and skid plate will come loose. In my case the skid plate came completely loose and fell onto the highway and was subsequently struck by another vehicle. All maintenance has been done by a Ford dealership and they indicated this was a known problem. Items falling off of vehicles onto the highway is a safety concern. Especially when such items are large and difficult to avoid. I have written to Ford with no resolution or acknowledgement of the problem. Parts should not be falling off of vehicles because of defective or inadequate fasteners.

Left for work this morning (April 29th 2019). Temp was 48, left the hotel and turned on rear defrost, smelled a burning electronics smell within about 2 minutes after turning on the rear defrost and heard a loud pop as I was traveling at 35mph. I looked back to see my driverside rear window completely shattered. Called Ford and asked them if they new of anything, they just brushed me off. Im concerned greatly more for the electrical smell even though im highly upset about the window. I dont want a vehicle fire. This is a factory defect, not a wear and tear item or a consumable. I am thoroughly convinced Ford needs to fix this, both my window and the electrical burning smell. I worked at a dealer as a technician, if my truck catches fire, I will hire a lawyer.

Vehicle was parked in garage and it was approx 40 degrees outsided. Started truck using remote start, when I inserted key into ignition and turned vehicle on to drive there was a loud bang or pop from the rear of cab. I got out of vehicle to look around and found rear sliding window was shattered on the driver's side, with no evidence of anything hitting the glass, obviously since it was in a garage. I then did some research online and found numerous websites with hundreds of people complaining of this same exact issue happening on 2010-2014 F150 trucks. I then drove it to my local Ford dealer for reapairs/replacement. They can not explain how or why it happened, agreed that it was obvious nothing struck the window causing it to shatter. They've also informed me Ford is not willing to cover this under warranty" I'm not sure how many vehicles have to be affected by this identical issue before a recall or tsb is issued" this is an obvious problem with Ford's rear windows and could cause serious harm if shattered while driving, causing an accident, injuring children in back seat, etc.. it's been a week now and I'm still getting the run around from Ford.

This morning, I got in my truck and started it. As I was pulling out of my parking space, less then 1 minute with the engine running, I heard a huge pop in my backseat. I look back, the drivers side rear window just shattered. I got out and immediately took pictures, see below, and checked for any impacts and there were none. My window literally shattered on its own. I am taking it to Ford this afternoon after work.

Pulled the truck out of the garage to warm up. It was about 35 degrees Fahrenheit. And when I got out into the cold air, the rear cab window shattered. There was no impact from anything, just simply the change in temperature was enough to shatter the glass.

Ford F-150 2014 had an electrical issue that caused it to go up in flames as I was driving it down the highway at about 60 miles an hour. I first smelled a burning odor, then I looked in my review mirror and saw smoke, then I started seeing flames in the back passenger corner of my back seats. By this time the truck was very smoky but I was able to safely pull aside to the shoulder of the highway. I made an attempt to open my driver's door, but it wouldn't open and I then broke the glass to open the door from inside out. As I exited my vehicle and walked around the back of the truck I grabbed a towel out the bed of the truck and got on the ground to try and stop the flames at that time I could see a wire burning between the bed and the passenger cab of the truck as it made loud popping noises, then the truck just burst into flames. I called 911 and they called the fire department, they came out on the scene and put the fire out.

Sunroof exploded while driving in the morning at 8am at 65 miles an hour. Nothing hit the sunroof, no over passes were anywhere near and nobody in the side of the road. The closes vehicle was more than 500ft away. Herd loud explosion like sound scared me to where I jerked the wheel and nothing immediately visible until I slightly opened the sunroof cover and noticed the sunroof was shattered. All windows were up and A/C was up. Temperature was in the 70's and sunny. I have no idea why this would shatter but it shattered almost right in the middle.
