The drivers side front started leaking brake fluid. Before I saw that I was parked, started up the vehicle and stepped on the brake pedal to shift into reverse. The brake pedal felt loose and went all the way to the floor. I then examined the exterior, where I saw the leaking. To me this fits the recall for the brakes/cylinder, but my vehicle does not fall within the correct date of manufactoring. It is a 2014 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 ecoboost it has barely 80K miles. I have never had a brake issue on a vehicle before especially one under 100K. I think they need to expand the recall. I would be willing to offer up my broken parts for them to look at. I was lucky the vehicle was parked and I was smart enough to get out and look as I noticed something was wrong.

NHTSA recall 16V-345 8/11/20, I encountered the defect described in the above srreport. The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of brake fluid with the resulting visual and audible alarms. I verified at that time that the reservoir in the master cylinder was empty and that the brake fluid had leaked from the reservoir. Additional brake fluid was added and the brakes were cycled to attempt to get braking performance back. 3 cups of fluid leaked from the reservoir with no visible liquid on the outside of the reservoir or anywhere else under the vehicle. There was leakage into the brake booster. NHTSA 16V-345 states: 'owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford dealer to have the brake master cylinder replaced. Additionally, the brake booster will be replaced if the brake master cylinder is leaking.' Sr 16S24 states as to remedy: 'owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford dealer to have the brake master cylinder replaced additionally the brake booster will be replaced if the brake master cylinder is leaking.' Took the vehicle to a Ford dealer (classic Ford of columbia). After the dealer completing their evaluation, I was advised that the master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced and that, the brake booster needed to be replaced. The brake booster was stated to be at my expense and not covered by the recall. I pointed out to the dealer that I wanted the master cylinder and the brake booster repaired under the recall. Upon delivery I inquired and was advised that the brake booster was not replaced because it did not need to be. I had been advised that it needed to be replaced when they were wanting me to pay for it. Complaint: The recall indicates that the brake booster will be replaced if the master cylinder is leaking. It was. The action is not discretionary. Ford has failed to perform what was required by the recall program.

Upon moving vehicle to raod, low brake fluid light appeared. There was no brake pressure and brake pedal went all the way to floor. Vehicle would not stop!. after looking under hood, little to no brake fluid in reservoir. Filled it up and attempted to drive. Brake pedal still very soft and after 1/4 mile drive, brakes had no power again. No leaking is visible. Let vehicle sit for two days after filling up fluid reservoir and it is now almost completely empty.

On July 19, 2020 ~3:30P, I was traveling on ca 134 w transitioning to ca 101 N. as I applied the brakes the pedal went straight to the floor with no braking effect being initiated. Vigorously pumping the brakes resulted in virtually no braking effect. Turning the emergency flashers on, I then allowed the vehicle to coast to a stop on the shoulder of the ca 101 North and awaited for roadside assistance. There was no previous braking performance issue, annunciator warning, or alarm of any form to suggest a pending issue. Only upon the actual failure itself did a display message show up on the dash. That message read something like "brake fluid low". as I waited for roadside assistance, I took a moment to inspect the area under the vehicle looking for evidence of any dripping or leaking fluids. There was none and the vehicle was otherwise well maintained with approximately 60,000 miles on it. I contacted aaa for an emergency tow. When the aaa flatbed truck arrived, the driver, bill, asked the nature of the problem and I informed him it was a virtual 100% brake failure. After he loaded the truck onto the flat bed, he noted with surprise that the vehicle had indeed lost 100% of its brakes. Aaa towed the vehicle to their nearest service center located at 5451 tujunga ave, North hollywood (los angeles), ca. When the there, dan, the technician/owner in charge, spoke with me after his initial inspection, he was surprised to find the vehicle had 100% brake failure with no evidence of any external leaks. He did note that the brake fluid reservoir was empty but there was no leaks. He surmised that the fluid must have leaked "internally" and thereafter indicated he would do no work on the vehicle, believing that Ford needed to analyze the failure. My 91 year old passenger and I were lucky to have not been the cause of a major highway accident.

While coming to a stop and applying the brakes, I've noticed over the last several days that the brakes have become soft, almost going completely to the floor at times. Also, while stopped and applying the brakes, the brake pedal slowly sinks towards the floor. I have check the truck for possible leaks and have found none apparent. The reservoir is down a bit but again, no visible leaks. I checked Ford's site for a possible recall and it says there is none. However, I know there is some 2013 and 2014 models with a master cylinder recall. I'm thinking maybe the recall didn't include enough vehicles because it sounds like my truck is having the same issue.

We had sold the house and were moving. Truck was parked in front of house with travel trailer attached to hitch. Preparing to drive away, and had no brakes. Checked brake fluid and had none. Took other car to purchase, came back and filled, and brake fluid all drained out. Had to unhook trailer and have vehicle towed. Local dealer replaced master brake cylinder and booster the next day. Spent $719 plus finding accommodations for the night, dealer said there was no recall at that time. Drove nearly 600 miles, and that night we lost power. Andhad to have the truck towed again. This time they said it was a defective throttle body. Had to stay 1 night in a hotel, then 3 more nights in an rv park waiting for parts, and spent $445 in repairs. Our move was delayed several days with all of this, due to a truck that had less than 60,000 miles on it, and has been well maintained. I since inadvertently found out that master cylinder and booster have now been recalled, but I have to physically go to a Ford dealer to request a refund, and was told it could take 6-8 weeks. I was also told that it would not cover the throttle body. I don't understand how our truck that has not given us any problems before could have these two major issues back to back without them being related. All of this has set us back nearly $2000.

My trucks brakes went to the floor board. No brakes, I barley missed being T-boned. I had new breaks about a 2 months ago. No brake fluid but no leakage on the ground. My son told me if could be the master cylinder so I looked it up to see how much one cost and seen recalls on 2014 F150 for failure of master cylinder but my VIN is not listed. Help please

I purchased this truck new in March 2015. I have had it serviced according to manufacturer recommendations every 5,000 miles. Both front brake lines have recently burst with no warning, as follows: - on 1 May 2019, when the truck had 105,488 miles on it, I pressed the brake pedal to stop at a city street red light. The pedal sunk to the floor causing the truck to enter the intersection amidst oncoming traffic. There was no warning light or sound before or after the failure. Brake fluid gushed onto the ground from the right front brake. A Ford service agent diagnosed the cause as a bulge in the right front brake hose where it met the caliper that had burst when I applied the brakes. This incident happened minutes after leaving the said Ford service facility at which they had just performed a brake inspection and said all four brakes looked new and the vehicle was in good condition. - on 11 December 2019, when the truck had 113,089 miles on it, while the truck was parked, I put my foot on the brake pedal to start the truck. The brake pedal sank to the floor. Again, there was no warning light or sound before or after the failure. I looked under the truck and saw brake fluid gushing out of the front left brake hose. A Ford service agent diagnosed the cause as a rupture in the front left brake hose.

There was a recall for a brake booster master cylinder in may of 2016. We bought the truck used in Dec 2017. The mileage was 35774 when the recall was done. We have been driving the truck and now the brake booster is out again. We replaced the front brakes thinking that was the problem but the booster started acting up again. After replacing the brakes, the pedal went to floor and had to be pumped to have brakes. I think they replaced it with yet another defective part. The truck is not driveable.

Husband was driving our 2014 F150 truck and was stopped at a stop light; brake pedal went completely to floor. When he got home, it was discovered that brake fluid was leaking from the front right compartment. Confirmed with Ford that our truck was not part of the recall 16S24, but was built in the dearborn plant during the same time frame as the trucks that were recalled and there is still a wide scope of vehicles that are not within the scope of the recall having the same issue. Truck VIN is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The brakes on my Ford F150 went out completely, while driving. The time from brake light to no brakes was about 3-4 minutes. I had to use the emergency brake to maneuver. Fortunately I was turning into a gas station. Although a recall has been created for 2013-2014 Ford F150 for the exact issue with my truck, my truck is not a part of the recall (brake master cylinder leaking into the brake booster). This is very dangerous. I had no brakes. I asked the Ford service provider if they report the issue, and the response was they do not. I am concerned that there are other drivers out there who will have their brakes go out while driving. Please review this immediately so that others will know there is a possibility their brakes could go out. I am attaching the service detail. I was told that the brake master cylinder just has a faulty part that went bad. How does that happen to a brake system? not sure what would have happened if my wife or son had been driving.

Brake fluid level low alert received while driving. Arrived at destination within one mile. Upon return to vehicle one hour later and starting vehicle and reversing out of parking spot, the brake pedal went to floor when pressed and brakes did not work. Moved gear shift to park and vehicle stopped. Towed to Ford dealer who advised that master cylinder and brake booster had failed. No external leakage occurred.
