2014 F150 XL V8 standard 8' bed with 2 wheel rear drive. 80,300 miles.

I noticed that coolant level kept dropping. There was no visible puddle or signs of leaks. After two weeks, I discovered that when the engine was cold the "T" connection in the upper radiator hose would leak. Dealer reviewed the situation and it was noted that water pump was moving up and down. I had to replace upper hose, "T" connection and the water pump. Water pump bearings were worn out.

Extended warranty cover most but I had to pay out of pocket $200.00 + after much discussion with dealer. I also discovered that this model has not radiator cap and coolant must be added to reserve tank. This seems to be a common problem with this type of "T" connection with the F150.

Noise was off and on for weeks. made an appointment for the noise to be investigated. I checked my engine compartment the night before the failure and I smelled antifreeze. The next morning I started the truck and water was running out of the engine on to the driveway. Had it towed to the appointment. The water pump was covered by a Certified truck warranty but the tensioner and belt was not. That cost plus my deductible brought the bill to over $400. I was told the pump bearing failed. Auto parts stores have the pump for $120 and there is a youtube video on replacement. So I beat out the last water pump complaint by 10,000 miles earlier.

F-150 XLT 5.0L V8

Had my 2014 Ford F-150 4X4 XLT to dealer for oil change ("The works package") I heard a slight noise like a bearing squeak on the way to dealership, I told them about it and asked them to look at it, They did and said they heard nothing and all belts and tensioners looked good, so I didn't worry about it after that.

One week later my water pump shelled out,the front bearing failed and leaked coolant and also broke the belt.

I am not really mad at my dealer for not finding this, I am highly disappointed in FORD , my truck only has 58,000 miles on it, I think a water pump should last much longer than this, I have been researching forums and it seems the water pumps on the truck 5.0 engine fail early or low miles on them. FORD should fix the problematic water pumps!

F-150 STX 5.0L

This is the 3rd water pump being put in my vehicle. The last one was 87,000 miles ago, 11 months ago. I'm thinking there is an issue here. I drive mostly interstate miles with my truck as it is my employment. I should not be on a third water pump in two years. That's the only reason it is under warranty, because it was replaced at a dealership less than a year ago. Seems as though there is an issue here. My truck is very well maintained so stuff like this doesn't happen to me. I loose time and work, which costs me money since it happens on the road away from home.

I understand that things can wear on vehicles, but twice in one year is not acceptable.
