Took my truck in because the original battery just died. Drive the night before got up next morning and is completely dead. Figured I was due for a new battery as this one is almost 5 years old. They replaced the battery and 189 dollars later I am back home. Two weeks of driving and get up to head out and the new battery is completely dead. This time I had it towed in. It's now nearly a week later and no solution... Come on Ford, it can't be that though to figure out what's going on....
Update from Mar 19, 2019: The mechanic found this module, which is in the steering column, was sticking and leaving my instrument panel on. He replaced the defective brake switch and so far all is well.

With 19,500 miles and 3 new batteries installed, something happened with the system that drained my battery .
I don't have any after market radio or anything extra, dealer says that they don't know why.

Seems to be very hard on batteries, no after market gadgets, but these new trucks light up like the 4th of July every time a door is opened or the ignition key is inserted. 3 batteries in 3 years, Ford dealership batteries.. Driving under normal conditions, nothing unusual, have not run into a problem like this before. Now keep a battery charger on board just in case. Truck ran fine no indication of a problem then dead battery. Nothing at all when turning key, no lights, no horn. Pulled batt terminals checked for power drain, no draining issues. Like my truck otherwise but they sure don't make them like they used too. My thoughts too many gadgets drawing power...
Drove a Ford Escape for 7 years, same battery...no problems until transmission blew...

Update from Nov 2, 2017: Dealer sold me a new battery and suggested that my batteries don't last because the truck sits too much. It is true that I use it on weekends only and it can be parked 4-5 days. I will try charging the battery during the winter months, when it seems to be getting low....keeping battery boosting cables nearby as well...

Some days, it starts just fine. Lots of days, the battery has been drained overnight, and won't even turn on the dome lights. The local dealer said they narrowed it down to a "body control module" $750.00 dollars later, it's still doing it.

parasitic battery drain when parked
After 25000 mile service, took truck on a long trip of almost 3000 miles where it rarely sat for more than 8 hours. Got back home and the next couple of days it seemed hard to start in the morning and after work. Saturday morning got up and battery was completely dead. Put it on a charger and got it started, took it to the dealer and they replaced the battery. Six days later, it was dead too. Got it started again and took it back to the dealer (this was on Friday). Dealer still has the vehicle (it's now Wednesday) and can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Something is draining the battery when the vehicle is parked.

The battery goes dead overnight or over a few days. I replaced the battery 4 times. I took truck to Jim Click Ford several times and they found nothing wrong. The truck is totally unreliable.
