Premature failure of left front coil spring with approximately 103,000 miles on truck.. Spring is still not repaired. I believe the broken state of this spring could have steering and handling implications to both this vehicle and others under certain conditions while operating vehicle on rough roadways, especially pothole laden ones. This spring failure was brought to my attention by may local Ford dealer during a routine inspection. I reported the premature failure to Ford Motor Company during a detailed chat session on line and also a detailed letter mailed to Ford. My only warning was when my dealer reported it to me. I did some online research and this seems to a fairly common occurrence. I also believe Ford is aware that this problem is related to inferior material and or workmanship of these coil springs, with the spring coating being related to the premature failure.

I have a 2014 F150 Ford truck. The truck had been sitting in the driveway for 3 days. I was outside and heard a loud bang and thunk. I started to look around to find what it was and saw something under the front passenger side of the truck. Looking at it I found what looked like a broken piece of curved rod about 5/8 inch in diameter. Looking further I found it was off the coil over spring which had broke on the passenger side front of the vehicle. This was a clean break with no cracks in the metal and did not look like there had been any reason for it to break. The truck has 44000 miles on it. I think that if this happened while driving that it may have caused an accident. I think that the metal was defective as I have never heard of a coil spring breaking like this with so few miles on a vehicle

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was parked in the carport, the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was flat. The contact called roadside assistance to the house and they determined that the lug nuts were severely rusted and four of them had to be broken in order to have the spare tire installed. The vehicle was driven to vicksburg Ford Lincoln (2431 N frontage rd, vicksburg, ms 39180), but the refused to repair the vehicle because the lug nuts were severely rusted. The vehicle had to driven back to the contact's residence and repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact heard a noise coming from the rear wheels while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that all four wheels and the rotors, brake pads, and ball joints needed to be replaced due to rust and corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

After hitting bumps in the highway the truck starts to wobble uncontrollably and the only way to get it back is to slow down to 30mph and then the wobble will stop. We have replaced the track bar, stabilizer, brakes and rosters, new tires, and balances.

My tire spec and pressure label is incorrect, cold psi is shown at 55 psi front and 60 psi rear and the TPMS shows low pressure if under 55 and 60. All local Ford service advisers say it should be 35psi. I have been complaining of vibration issues since I bought the truck and feel this has put myself and my family at risk not to mention the premature wear on my tires and suspension components.

We were on our way back from vacation in South Carolina doing the speed limit of 70 and all of a sudden I heard a loud bang, the front passenger side dropped down on the truck. The truck lost control and went into a guard rail, the air bags deployed, the rear end of the truck came around and the truck began to flip. Once the truck came to a stop they had to cut the roof off and windshield to get us out. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and my son followed with the sheriff and our dog. There is no explaination to why the passenger side tire came off with only a few marks and fully intact. The mystery to everyone is why is there only half a rim"?" the rim was off the vehicle along with the tire being off the rim in the middle of the road. The sheriff looked along with other people to not find the other half the rim. The tow truck company looked to see if the half rim was there but cannot find anything. The truck at the moment is at bull dog towing in South Carolina (803)865-3800. The claim is being handled by hanover insuarance - [xxx] - 1-800-628-0250 ext. [xxx] - claim # - [xxx]. please look into this considering I have found that Ford has an issue with there 2014 Ford edge wheels busting in half and the vehicles wrecking. According to the artical your office is handling this investigation of the edge. I understand they are 2 different vehicles but still the same manufacturer & if there is a deffect I would like to find out. I have tons of pictures if needed please request. Vehicle exhibits a shudder/vibration/shake when starting from a stop. Problem is more apparent with weight on the truck. With approx. 400-500 lbs. Or more problem is most apparent. At 300 miles, the problem became very noticeable. Informed dealer, set appointment. Vehicle had 800 miles at servicing, 2/23/2015. Dealer removed rear driveline and drove the truck with just the front driveline and shudder did not occur. Dealer replaced entire rear driveline and problem persists. After 8 days at the dealer service shop, customer was told the problem is normal, especially with any type of load. 400lb is a load"??? what happens when I attach a tow unit to this vehicle? is this safe? after acknowledging a problem and replacing the driveline, dealer now says this is normal and has something to do with the shocks and computer. But rest assured this is normal. Waiting for Ford factory representative to investigate. Problem is disturbing and one has to wonder what the long term consequences of this shudder is to the vehicle, vehicle driveline, etc. I was told numerous things by people at the dealer; salesperson said it was probably in need of a transmission reflash, shop foreman originally said maybe there was not enough grease on the driveline splines. Now it's the computer and the shocks" I asked the service mgr. Why they replaced the driveline if its a normal situation. He responded that they didn't notice the weight (400-500lbs under the tonneau cover) until after they replaced the driveline. One has to wonder about dealer competency when they apparently know a problems exist with weight on the truck, yet fail to check for weight on the vehicle. Also, is this not some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem? as of 3/2/2015, the truck is still at the dealer. I've spent less than one week in the truck and over one week in a Ram 1500 rental truck. No new car joy here.
