Riding on expressway in high speed lane. Felt like I was hit in the rear, jerking my head and body pretty severely. Speed decreased to 30 miles an hour almost instantly. Eventually, regained power after 15-30 seconds. Wrench light came on and stayed on for about 2 minutes. It happened a second time in same day at a lower speed. Immediately took car to dealer so not sure how often it would reoccur. Have since come to learn that the cause is a bad molded leadframe connector in transmission. There have been alerts on older F150 models but not on my year. I know at least 2 other people with same issue on their 2015 models. Dealer said that it's impossible to get parts because so many people are having same issue. In my opinion, this is a major safety problem especially if it happens at high speeds with a semi behind you or in bad weather conditions.

While driving the truck, the engine RPM increased suddenly, and the rear wheel locked while traveling at about 55 mph. The vehicle stopped quick enough that caused the seat belts to lock. Took the truck to the dealership and was informed that the leed frame for the transmission was not properly communicating with the truck computer. We were told that the vehicle was in risk of shifting into reverse at anytime and not to drive the truck until it is fixed. The are other F-Series trucks that have been recalled for this issue but my truck was not included in the recall.

Happened several times only at highway speeds. Truck goes into limp mode after accelerating to highway speed (~65). Also happened once under normal conditions, just keeping at approximately 65mph. Lose throttle pedal control, slows down rapidly, shakes excessively. No warning to when it-??s going to happen, so it put me into a hazardous situation.

- I'm not sure what components have failed. However the issue relates to Tires halting while driving and they screech across the road. RPM's will switch from 1,500 to 4,500, down to 2,500 and at times nearly redlines. While driving it will also kick into neutral and will not operate to move in reverse or forward, even though initially the vehicle was put in "Drive". The engine sounds like it's overworking when going through this issue. The "gear" and "prndl" lights on the dash will flicker and/or disappear when this issue arises. The truck can be available upon request for inspection. - When driving and the issue arises. The truck will jolt while improperly shifting gears. It will skip several gears and even go into neutral. I lose all control of the truck when this issue occurs. Recently, I was traveling while my truck jolted. I lost all control of the truck. I could not engage with the transmission. The speed of the truck significantly decreased and I lurched forward in my seat. The gears went from "6th" and shifted automatically to "1st". The vehicle behind me nearly collided with my truck. This issues poses a threat to all drivers and passengers within range. Especially considering this happens unexpectedly. - This issue is common with Ford F-150's. Their has been a major recall, however my truck is not on that list. The recall seems to be issues on 2011's-2013's. Ford needs to investigate on their 2015 year models as well. I'm not the only one with this issue. -It has not been inspected by anyone, on this vehicle. However the fact remains, this is a prominent issue within F-150's. - The wrench light will appear right as the issue occurs. I have also received the codes listed: P0707, and P0706. This has been an ongoing issue recently. I've tried to diagnose the issue and have come upon the same issue that many others face. Ford Motor Co. is responsible for this issue.

I was driving on a city street at about 30mph up a slight incline when the truck just seem to shut off. But it didn't die, the engine was still running but barely. It was running very rough, like miss firing on several cylinders. It would not accelerate, no change of engine sound or power, the throttle was totally unresponsive. It also felt as if the brakes were being applied slightly. A message came on the dash saying something about hill assist and another wrench message. I had no chose but to pull over in traffic before it quit. This was on or about July 18 then again today on July 26. This time I was one a city street down to one lane due to construction. I was barely able to make it to a turn off before it totally quit moving, with traffic backed up behind me. I shut off the engine to let the computer reboot and got a message that hill assist was now off. After a longer than normal crank time it started and ran ok. I called Stivers Ford to make an appointment and was told it was probably a fluke, and wait and see if it did it again. I now have an appointment for August 4 to have it checked. I went on Google after the first time and found many complaints about the same situations, but with no fixes. If this were to happen under the right circumstances it could be very serious. I'm a recently retired auto technician, and shop owner of 48 years. I understand the difficulty in finding intermittent failures. But after reading all the same symtoms in Ford pickups for years it seems there should be more done from the manufacturer to address this problem.

When driving on the highway an alert popped up on the dash stating Hill Descent Control Fault which was followed quickly by Service Advancetrac and a yellow wrench and see manual. These warning continued to cycle and the truck seemed to lose ability to maintain speed as is slowed down and the steering became difficult. I was able to get it off the highway without incident as there were not many vehicles on the road, but if it would have been busy, I would have been in trouble. Once on the shoulder I placed it in park and the truck began to shudder and run rough. I turned the truck off and let it sit for a few minutes and then restarted it. Upon restart everything appeared normal and there were no warnings, I was able to continue to my destination. I called the dealership and they sounded like they had heard this story before and told me I could bring it in within a weeks time. I was also told that it would not cause any damage to continue to drive it. While waiting for the repair I did have to continue to drive it and this same thing would happen randomly just going down the road and all of the sudden you get a warning lose the ability to maintain speed and steering becomes difficult. Being on the highway in this situation is dangerous since you never know when it might occur. After going to the dealership they listed the repairs on my form as: installed BL3Z9E926 B Throttle Body and Motor Asy installed BL3Z 12029 C Coil Asy - Ignition installed BL3Z 12A402 A Boot - Ignition wire prot (5 items) installed CYFS 12 YT4 Spark Plug (6 items) The parts and labor of this repair came to $972.56. I have read forums online that that state others have had this repair done as well and some people say their steering rack was replaced as well. This repair was just done yesterday (6-26-21) and I am hopeful that it will fix the problem. I feel that based on the reading I have done this has happened to lots of people and is dangerous, so I wanted to report my incident.

Vehicle lost all speed control when taking off from a stop and engine was shuttering/vibrating/misfiring and dash panel lit up like a christmas tree with all kinds of warnings. Pulled over to the side of the road shut down and let sit for several minutes. Restarted and engine light stayed illuminated. Truck was running ok and limiter was not engaged was a short distance from home so I began to drive. Made it up to 55 mph and about 1/2 a mile and without any warning it began to act up again so to prevent an accident I pulled over and called a tow truck to have it towed to dealership. They diagnosed to to be a faulty throttle body. $502.46, a heart and panic attack later it seems to have fixed the problem.

While driving the vehicle a grinding noise emanated from somewhere near the front wheels. The was also the feeling of a shutter or a shake from the same area. This was felt in the steering wheel. After taking it to the Ford dealer, we were told they took a fluid sample from the transfer case and found it contaminated with metal. At 44,576 miles, we had to replace the transfer case.

The vehicle was parked, put into park, the key was removed, then the vehicle was locked. Upon returning to the vehicle the vehicle was unlocked, the tailgate was lowered and we proceeded to load a bulky 70 (I'm guessing) pound object into the bed of the truck. As we pushed the object into the bed of the truck the vehicle started to roll. It was rolling more than just the normal few inches that a vehicle in park can sometimes roll. I jumped into the drivers seat (the door had been left ajar) and pressed the brake to stop the truck. The keys were not in the ignition, the gear shift indicated that the vehicle was in park. The extra parking brake was not being used. The parking lot was very level, there was no slope at all. Once we had the object we were loading secured we pushed the truck and it was still able to be moved. We were fortunate that the object that we were loading wasn't heavy, because it would have been very easy to have an object drop down onto the person(s) loading. There were no injuries to anyone, there were no other vehicles damaged. We just felt that this was something that should be reported. Mileage is approximate mileage was 39,824 in June ( 5 months ago)at last oil change.

My wife was driving vehicle and dash started flashing "hill start assist not available", "service advanced trac" and the wrench icon started displaying on console. Vehicle vibrated heavily slowed down in a "cripple" mode no matter how hard gas pedal was pressed. She pulled over, turned the ignition off and waited 5+ minutes before restarting. It re-started with engine light lit. In order to get it to dealer, she had to drive approximately 15 miles. Vehicle drove ok for a bit and then exhibited similar behavior 4 more times, including once going up the conejo grade between camarillo and newbury park where a big rig had to take evasive action to avoid hitting her when the Ford F150 suddenly and uncontrollably slowed down. Had the semi driving not been paying attention, he could have easily hit her. Ford dealer diagnosed as bad throttle body on 11/2/2020 same vehicle had exhibited brake loss due to faulty master cylinder (now a recall) in August of 2019.

My 2015 had roughly 75,000 miles when a noticeable vibration/rmumble could be felt not only by the driver at the wheel but in all passenger seats of a F-150 super crew. The speed was irrelevant, and on highway or in city, the vibration was notably approximate in time bwtween vibration and duration. Under extended warranty my Ford dealer diagnosed the torque converter and the vehicle is now in for repair while I have a Ford loander. We will see if this fixes the problem today is 6 Oct 2020.
