The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine would not restart. The contact attempted to restart the engine; however, the vehicle began shaking and would not stop. Also, 'hill descent control fault' and 'service advancetrac" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to paducah Ford (3476 park ave, paducah, ky 42001, (270) 444-0011) where it was diagnosed that a new throttle body needed to be installed. The contact planned to have the vehicle repaired this week. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 104,000.

While driving my 2015 Ford F150 platinum (V6 eco boost) on an hwy (70 mph) the truck encountered loss of pedal response and three warning light as I coasted to a stop in heavy traffic. These three warning lights: Hill assist traction control, advanced trac warning indicator, driver assistance indicator. The truck to transition to 'limp' mode (accelerator and power steering doesn't work) which a dangerous and scary. Most 'limp' mode incidents have occurred while descending downhill, has occurred seven times so far. I have taken it to the dealer, and they just clear code and say your good ($130 diagnostic fee). Then the error occurs the same day. With more online research there a massive problem with the throttle body which causes this to happen. There needs to be a Ford recall for this before someone gets hurt.

My 2015 F150 ecoboost has 100,000 miles on it. Over the past 10 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. It happened while going up a hill on a cross-country trip, as well. The RPM drops down to 500 RPM, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel (limp mode). Pulled off to side of road and had to stop and re-start the truck several times before we could continue our trip. I checked codes and logged a P2112. After some online research, I cleaned the throttle body. Looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequently happens to others. This is a safety issue and could result in an accident. The truck should not enter limp mode for a minor issue like this. Luckily I was able to safely get over on the shoulder each time. I recently had my truck in for a recall and PCM software update. The rear differential went about a week after the update, and now the loss of power. (see https://youtu.be/hxqvxxejzqo)

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving 75 mph, a rattling noise was detected and the vehicle vibrated violently while decreasing in speed. The downhill descent control active warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to summerville Ford (9700 dorchester rd, summerville, SC 29485, (877) 477-1434) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

My 2015 F150 ecoboost has 79,156 miles on it. Over the past 3 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. Took my truck into Ford today and they replaced the throttle body under my extende warranty not their emissions warranty as stated in their owners manual of 8 years or 80,000 miles. Called Ford and they don't know about an emissions warranty in their owners manual. Looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequent with others. This can really cause a horrible accident. Luckily I'm a cdl driver and was able to safely get over on the shoulder this time. I'm not confident replacing the throttle body was a fix as it is a bandage to happen again at any point in time. This truck now is compromised and I wouldn't want any of my family using it or depending on it.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power and stalled without warning. There had also been some difficulty shifting gears from drive into park and reverse because the gear would not fully shift in place. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 19V075000 (power train) and 18V894000 (engine). Apple Ford Lincoln of apple valley (7200 150th St w, apple valley, mn 55124, (952) 431-5900) was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle after it had been taken back and forth more than once. The failure recurred with the vehicle stalling at any rate of speed and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer due to the potential risk of a crash. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action number: RQ17010 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.. consumer replaced throttle body, both times vehicle lost all power other than idle @ roughly 60mph.

2015 F-150 3.5L ecoboost driving on highway at speeds 60-75mph went to "limp mode" losing all acceleration with warnings "service advance trac" "hill descent control fault" and "hill start assist not available" along with the service wrench light. Resulted having to pull over on interstate 10 with busy traffic, also while in the middle of a traffic light turning left. This has happened 6 times. Ford dealer has diagnosed this as a throttle body issue and will be replaced at my cost

A/C compressor and evaporator assembly failed on a 2015 truck with 50K miles! just out of the blue the A/C compressor started making a loud noise and subsequently failed very shortly thereafter. Had to get it replaced. In connection with this problem, the evaporator assembly failed as well and was leaking freon into the cabin of the vehicle. Had to get that replaced. $2K worth of repairs - unbelievable. A simple google search shows this to be a common issue - this needs to be recalled!

3 series of incidents involving the same problem. In January of 2018 I identified a problem where the engine just dies under acceleration and 3 different warnings appear 1) hill climb assist error 2) service advance trac system 3) service engine, see owners manual. On Jan 10, 2018 dealer could not find problem. Situation happened again in early April of 2018 and this time they identified the throttle body. It was replaced and issue seemed to be resolved. Issue resurfaced again on Dec 7th 2018 almost causing a serious traffic accident. Appointment scheduled with dealership on wed Dec 12 2018. All 3 occurrences almost resulted in accidents one nearly a broadside as I turned left across traffic when the engine died. I'm very concerned that this could result in serious injury or even death and Ford is aware of the issue according to the dealer service person. This was reported after earlier incident and the complaint number is 11083485

I was on the highway and the hill start assist/traction control lights started coming on. A few hundred miles later, more dash lights started flashing and then all dash lights went off and the truck lost all power. I could no longer accelerate. After a moment, it started working again. After a few more miles, it did it again, and this time when it powered down, the ABS break system went on and created a terrible grinding noise and brought me to a stop on the side of the highway. I limped it on the side of the highway, trying to find an exit, and the truck repeatedly did the lights flashing/power down/breaks applied several more times at low speed. The nearest exit was about 10 miles, so I had to continue to do this for some time. Once I was at an exit, I disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes. When I re-connected the battery and started the truck, everything seemed fine, but now the check engine light was on. I decided to just risk it and keep driving, so that I could get home. About 100 miles later it started doing the same thing again. I was close enough to home to get off the highway and take back roads home. It did it a few more times and then quit doing it. This was a very dangerous situation, as my truck basically stopped while I was on the highway going 70 mph, and could have caused a serious accident, and left me no option but to either be broken down on the side of the highway or drive at very low speeds on the shoulder. The Ford dealer that I took the truck to told me that they can't replicate the issue and all diagnostics come back clean, so they are not able to fix anything. Others online that have had the same/similar issue have said that Ford said that it is a damaged throttle body that needs to be replaced, but the dealership that I went to did not suggest that as the cause.

We had a throttle body issue this summer and had to have it replaced and towed. During driving, we lost all power, major safety issue! when I asked Ford about it, they said they didn't know about the issue; however they issued several recalls regarding this. This truck isn't in the recall, which makes no sense. It is evident that Ford has a major issue with their throttle bodies I have spoken with Ford several times, they are not helpful and are refusing to pay for this.

While driving on the freeway the vehicle shuts down and the hill descent control light came on and then the engine light. This happened 3 times, I took it to autozone to be tested and the error code - P2112 throttle actuator control system- throttle body needs to be changed. After researching, I came to find out this is happening to thousands of Ford vehicles. Ford had a recall on some vehicles for this, but if your make and model was not on there they will not cover the cost. Ford knows this is a dangerous problem, but will not issue a recall. It is only a matter of time (if not happened already) that there will be a fatality due to this body throttle issue. We as consumers should not have to worry about our vehicle randomly dying on the roads, worry about killing someone else or our own families just to commute. Ford should be ashamed of themselves.

The contact took the vehicle to signature Ford Lincoln (1960 E main St, owosso, mi 48867, (800) 364-2868) for an oil change and was informed that there was an 80% leakage from the oil pan. There were also additional oil leaks coming from the front cover. The manufacturer offered only a partial refund of $500 for the repairs, but the total repair cost was over $1,800. The manufacturer later offered a $700 refund. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 77,918.

Engine abruptly dropped to a rough idle with no throttle response while in traffic. Display console reported 'service advancetrac' and other warnings. I managed to coast to the side of the road. I shut off and restarted the engine and was able to drive normally. The same symptom repeated the next day. This is a repeat of the same symptom that occurred at about 17000 miles. At that time the dealer replaced the throttle body under warranty. This time the vehicle was out of warranty, so I replaced the throttle body myself and fixed the problem. I subsequently disassembled the old throttle body to see if I could identify the root cause of the problem. As an experienced electronic engineer, I have a better shot at doing this than many. Upon disassembly, I noticed black discoloration on the connector to the motor that controls the throttle. The material of that connector appears to be tin or a tin alloy; the black is likely an oxide that can cause an open circuit. This looks like a phenomenon called 'fretting' that can occur in connectors when vibration is present. The usual fix is to change to gold plated contacts, and/or ensure continued lubrication of the contacts. I've attached an article on 'fretting' for reference. Based on the fact that this problem was not permanently fixed by the first replacement of the throttle body, it appears that Ford has not implemented a design change to manage it. It's likely that the problem will recur and require repeated fixes. This is dangerous in traffic because it's not always possible to coast to a safe location with a non-functioning engine.

While driving in traffic, the engine abruptly cut to a rough idle and throttle became unresponsive. Warnings to service advancetrac and hill start assist popped up. I coasted to a stop, which was dangerous in traffic. I turned the engine off, then restarted twice and vehicle then behaved normally. The same problem recurred the following day. This is a repeat of a problem that occurred early in the life of the truck and that was fixed by the dealer under warranty by replacing the throttle body. This time I bought and replaced the throttle body myself and have fixed the problem. Loss of engine power in traffic is a dangerous event. The fact that this is the second failure of the throttle body in my vehicle suggests that the problem is not under control by the manufacturer.
