Adaptive cruise control periodically detects a truck in the right as being in front of me. It activates the brakes to avoid a assumed collision even though the lane is clear ahead. The brakes have, on occasion, be applied automatically in a very strong manner. I am afraid that this condition can lead to someone rear ending my truck. The dealer could not confirm any issues, however it has happened own occasion since new.

The adaptive cruise control was updated when the recall was issued but still exhibits the problem of slamming on the brakes when passing a semi. The problem is actually getting worse, and happens more frequently. It now happens when going under a bridge. I have had it to 2 different dealers and contacted Ford and they all tell me that there are no computer error codes therefore it didn't happen. They also tell me that there is no recall because I already had the recall service performed. This truck is not safe, it will kill me or whoever is unlucky enough to be following me. Ford doesn't seem to care because they have already performed the recall service.

On Friday 10/28 while driving down the interstate at about 55 miles/hour at approximately 6:30pm with vehicles ahead of and behind my truck, the vehicle began to give a number of check engine alerts, at which time the engine rpms dropped to very low levels and began to stall and the accelerator no longer responded. Had truck towed to the nearest dealership within the hour. I was very lucky in this situation, for had I been in a construction area or on a bridge, the situation could have been much worse. This same situation occurred on the evening of 10/2 while driving 40mph down a state road near my home and according to the dealer who attended to the issue, the brake module had failed which caused the symptoms to arise. In that instance, the accelerate failed to respond and the engine began to stall, which it did when I pulled to the side of the road. They replaced the module a few days later. In addition, the driver side door vibrates and does not latch properly. Two dealers have failed to resolve this issue to date and I believe it is a safety concern that has largely been dismissed by the service technicians and dealerships involved. Despite numerous documented attempts to resolve this issue with Ford customer service, they have ignored this concern, have failed to respond to me in a timely manner, and declined a buyback request. I am submitting lemon law documentation for the vehicle during the week of October 31. I have spent hundreds of dollars on rental vehicles during attempted repairs to the doors and the brake module since Ford claims they will not cover the cost of rental vehicles during warranty repairs. Repair documentation attached pertains to repairs for 10/2 occurrence since the dealership has not yet had an opportunity to inspect my vehicle since it was dropped off yesterday evening. I will gladly provide info once received.

This is a very dangerous issue (sensors thinking they are going to hit something, when it should be nothing). I wish I had a video of it happening, but it only has happened 3 times for at most 3 seconds in the the 1.5 years I have owned the vehicle.

Despite being in the dealers repair shop for warranty work for 33 days including a factory recall on the adaptive cruise control, the unit continues to malfunction. The latest event occurred on August 24, 2016 while traveling at 77mph with the adaptive cruise control engaged. Without warning or cause the collision control system fully deployed to include hard braking, windshield warning lights, instrument cluster warning, and audible warning. Result is that the vehicle dramatically slows very quickly creating a potentially major problem if there were vehicles following closely behind. This in addition to the sudden nature of the warning and vehicle "take over" by the system could cause momentary driver panic! dealer has stated a willingness to work on the vehicle again, but says they can only re-do what they have already done multiple times.

While using adaptive cruise control mode at highway speeds both day and night my vehicles forward collision avoidance system has mistakenly applied the brakes suddenly reducing the vehicle speed abruptly. Night time instance was going under a expressway overpass center lane no other vehicles in area. Day time in hov lane and moderate traffic flow but no one within ten car lengths. Only 1000 miles on vehicle. I have deactivated the adaptive cruise control in vehicle settings. Vehicle just outside of production date of recall. Two purchased new 7/28/2016. To be reported to dealer.

The advance track warning light and fuel assist start warning lit up then the engine speed decreased to 1000 rpms and no acceloration available this happened on ann state highway from 70 mph dropping down to 10 mph this took over 30 days to fix. Seemed to be missed diagnosed for weeks. Mechanics unable to find problem. Parts were shipped and delayed and lost. Wiring harnesses and PCM and finally throttle body seemed to correct the problem. Mixed up because computer told mechanics one thing but really another.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration and the accelerator pedal erroneously depressed to the floorboard. The cruise control was not operating at the time of the failure. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not duplicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.

My girlfriend and I were driving down the highway on a sunny day at around 70 mph. I was using adaptive cruise control. There were other cars on the road, but none within distance to affect my speed/cruise control (they were all way ahead or behind). All of a sudden, for about a half second, my truck flashed the warning light and sound as if I was going to hit something, and it automatically pressed the brake for me. It was very scary and dangerous. Then it came out of the warning and we continued on our way (we were in a bit of shock). I of course turned off the adaptive cruise control so the vehicle was under my complete control. Thinking back, I'm wondering if the shadow from an overpass caused my truck to think there was a vehicle close and an impending crash. Either way, it was very unsafe, and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again to me, or anyone else.

Vehicle w/ less than 3,800 miles. Placed vehicle in drive and the rpms spiked and vehicle took off. Hard braked to gain control of vehicle the tires continued to spin on road surface. Forced the vehicle into park until the rmps dropped to normal range than placed into drive again, but with out incident.

This issue has been addressed by NHTSA campaign number: 15V-614, but my vehicle was not part of the recall. I believe my (and perhaps other peoples) vehicle should have been included in the campaign.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle abruptly decelerated. The wrench and limp mode warning lights illuminated while the failure occurred. The contact was able to coast on to the road shoulder and restarted the engine however; the vehicle did not regain acceleration. The vehicle was towed to the dealer whom performed a diagnostic that located a failure code at the throttle body. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

Jan. 13, 2016 while traveling South on route 17, in North Carolina towards raleigh, the sipped limit was 70 mph. I looked down and noticed I was moving at 80 mph, based on the dash speedometer. When I let off the gas pedal, the truck slowed down but the speedometer remained at 80 mph. I changed my digital setting from fuel economy to digital mph and noticed this mode seemed to be accurate, however the dash speedometer remained at 80 mph. My wife took a video of the problem with her phone. By the time we arrived in raleigh, nc, the dash mounted speedometer was close to 100 mph. We parked for several hours while attending a meeting with the senator. On the way home and heading back North on route 17, the speedometer started dropping back. By the time we got home, the speedometer was only off by approximately 5 mph compared to the digital speedometer. Parked the truck in the garage over night. When using the truck the following day, the speedometer seemed to matched up again. Dealer replaced the entire instrument cluster in order to correct the issue.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While pulling into a handicapped parking spot, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into a concrete pole. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received back and leg injuries. The passenger also received back injuries. Medical attention was not required. A police report was filed. The contact drove the vehicle home and later to the body shop where it was diagnosed that the bumper needed to be replaced and the front end needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 3,100.
