F-150 XLT 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20 miles

Since the day I purchased the truck new off the lot the acceleration seems to be hesitant during gears 3-5. It happens if the car is hot or cold and the only way to stop the hesitation during is to let of the gas and ease it back in. I also get a very hard down shift just like others have reported. I have taken to the dealership and they claim they cannot reproduce the issue even though the minute I drove off the lot it was still happening. One thing I did notice is it seems to happen more or it tends to be stronger when my AC is running but I'm really not sure if they are connected in any way. Ford needs to address this issue because it seems like its been an on going issue in their echoes models over the years. At this point I'm considering eating my loses and buying a different brand truck that backs their products.

F-150 FX4 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,300 miles

Transmission makes occasional clunk when shifting in midrange; following dealer replacement of leaking Transmission housing at pump with only 5,000 miles. Yesterday, transmission appeared to slip. Accelerating to 35 mph, released accelerator, then reapplied. Sounded like a squeal in the tranny.

F-150 King Ranch 3.5L Egoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 360 miles

this truck came with the 3.31 gears?

I bought this truck for my retirement and for traveling. The truck seems very sluggish when empty and gas mileage goes to hell when pulling my aluminum utility trailer with a UTV in it, about 3000#? I thought all trucks with the FX4 package came with at least the 3.55 gears if not lower, this one has the 3.31?

The transmission also seems to slip through the gears? maybe because of gearing?

I was hoping to be able to tow a 8,000# trailer for traveling and have the power to do so along with fair mileage.

Thank you, Dave
