rear windshield shattered

On 11/15/18 at approximately 6:55 am I was taking my daughter to school. It was 36 degrees outside and I had the heater, front and rear defrosters on.

As we were coming to a stop at a traffic light we heard a big BANG. We looked around and realized that the rear windshield had shattered. After I checked the internet I discovered that this is a common problem with the Ford F-150 trucks. I called Future Ford of Sacramento and talked to the service department they stated that there was no recall for the rear windshield at this time and that I would have to pay to get it replaced. The glass company that Ford referred me to told me that they had a lot of this same replacement call.

We paid top dollar for a reliable and dependable truck. It is a major disappointment to us that Ford won't cover a obviously defective part on their product. It's just too bad that Ford will have to be forced to take responsibility and do the right thing. Next time I will NOT buy a Ford.

While driving down the highway I heard what sounded like a gun shot. I pulled over and relized that my rear windshield had shattered. I observed nothing suspicious and have no idea how this occurred. It had been cold the night before and I had the heater on but not the rear defrost. I did a Google search and found this site and others with this same problem. I took my vehicle to the dealership this morning. I was told later in the day that Ford said it could not have happened like I reported it. The claim was denied and it's now on my dime to fix. I will try a few more times to see what Ford will do but I think Imam done with Ford. I have been a loyal Ford customer for 30 years. This is how I am being treated, I'm done! Any suggestions or ideas to assist me would be much appreciated.
