This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
This has been going on since right after the warranty went out, of course!
The dealer can't figure it out.

On several occasions I jump in my truck to go somewhere and start the truck and the radio will not come on! Even if I tried to hit the power button, it won't come on. The only solution to fix it is to shut the truck off and let it sit for a period of time. Amazingly, it seems to happen when you have to drive an hour or more. The GPS and and other functions work properly.

I am having problems with the radio. Several times I would crank my vehicle and the radio wouldn't turn on. I would only have a black screen.

This was second time for this to happen. This time instead of blaming weather (it was in 80's) they tested system. There were no codes. ran Oasis FOUND ssm46465. UPDATED PER SSM. cleared CODES. Retested and it passed. Will see if this fix lasts.

No Audio would occur: no radio, no phone, no computer voice. Leave the truck off for a while and then it would work again. The dealer finally replaced what they called the "radio module" and although the computer voice changed a bit, all is now well. But it took them 10 months to solve this.

I have un ford F-150 2016 3.5L twin tubo with 8900Km. This have the small 4 inch sync radio. Yesterday afternoom when I make starter up my truck, the radio won't turn on, exactly tha same like the last reports Black screen , This no turn on by the touchscreen or on/off button, Swich off the engine, and start again, the same the radio like dead..
When eject CD buttom and try to play one CD, the Radio turn on, but no function button worked include the command buttons on the driver wheel. I made my short trip and keed the truck in the garage. The next day I turned it on again and everything was working fine. I went to the Ford dealer and told them what happened and they not had a report of this fault in another vehicle. How lucky I am. #$%&#.

About once a week the radio in our truck won't turn on either by the touchscreen or on/off button. Access to other functions on the touchscreen work fine, just not the radio.

This is the second time my radio has not worked upon starting my truck. The first time this happened at approximately 4-5K miles and this last time around 13868K. The instrument cluster (Air bag indicator panel) below the radio flickers during the non-operation of the radio. The radio will eventually come on after starting and stopping the engine a few times. Good thing I took video of the non-working radio as proof there is a problem. I took my truck into Ford today and was told they could not diagnose the problem and they would have to call Ford engineers for a possible solution. This was after they told me to bring it back when the problem reoccurs. I told them that was unacceptable since the truck is still under a bumper to bumper warrantee. The truck is a 2016 F-150 XL 3.5L 4x4. The throttle body went out and stranded me on the freeway at 5K miles. This issue was resolved without question by Ford. I'm beginning to dislike Ford. We'll see how they handle this situation.

apple car play does not work with sync 3 - ford has no clue
Ford advertises that Apple Carplay works with their new SYNC 3. Yet it only works with the 2017's, not the 2016's. The dealer says it needs new hardware and software that the customer must purchase from the dealer but neither is available and they do not know when it will be available. Multiple calls and inquiries convinces me that Ford really does not care about this problem. I filed an official complaint and they would not even promise to respond.

radio stops working ramdomly I have to call Sirius radio about 40 time now to refresh signal. ford tells me that they are aware of problem but don't have a solution for it. the truck is a $56,000 vehicle and they cant fix the radio. also the battery was replaced at 6000 miles. I was a truck mechanic for 45 years and this is a lot of BS this will be my last ford I will wait one more week and then demand a new radio
Update from Aug 19, 2016: just talked to the regional manager he referred me back to the dealership this is absolute bs ford is looking into the problem very simple the radio is defective and I am not a brain surgeon I think a new radio would fix the problem

Ever since I bought my truck in 2016 (new) the radio/Bluetooth would just randomly quit working and start working usually the next day. I figured it was an automatic update and just left it alone. Well, about 2 months ago the same situation arose, except the radio/Bluetooth has not come back on. Everything is dead. Took it to the dealership where they ran a diagnostic test. The diagnostic test came back as the radio does not even exist. It "may" possibly be an electrical issue. Does Ford even recognize this situation? I live in Alaska and I depend on my electrical component to work, it is extremely necessary.
