Both factory brake lines ruptured and had to be replaced. The first was passenger side front brake line. I thought it was an anomaly or possibly even vandalism since it happened in a high school parking lot. Then, the driver's side ruptured several months later. Both times the vehicle was in motion but thankfully both times were in the parking lot and not the interstate. I was able to stop the vehicle with the parking brake since the brake pedal lost pressure. Had it been on the interstate, I would likely not be writing this message.

While driving, the brakes gave out when coming to a stop light. No warning system lights immediately illuminated. I had been running errands in town that morning with no issue, including stopping at church a couple minutes before with no issues. Thankfully, no one was in front of me at the stop light and I was able to avoid running the stop light by using the emergency brake pedal. I tired to release the e-brake once stopped while still in "Drive" and the regular breaks couldn't hold the truck in one spot so I put the vehicle in Neutral. When the light turned green, I release the brakes and then got a low brake fluid warning and was able to safely pull into a nearby parking lot and stop using the e-brake pedal. I walked around the vehicle to notice brake fluid in the right-front wheel well, inside the wheel rim and a pool of brake fluid forming on the ground by the tire. I had the vehicle towed to an independent service center who confirmed the brake line failure of the rubber/soft line at the linkage of the hard and rubber/soft lines. They replaced the part and replaced my brake fluid. Anecdotally, the service shop said they had the same repair on an F150 within a week prior. Luckily, I was on a low speed road with little traffic and knew to use the e-brake to safely slow and park the car. Also lucky

Front passenger side brake line failed when driving down a rural highway. The line failed just below the inboard fitting. Obviously losing the brakes put me and my family in a dangerous situation. Luckily we were able to bring the vehicle to a stop in a near by dot yard. This happened at night so we slept in the dot yard. We were able to find a replacement line in a near by town and get it repaired the next morning. I inspected the drivers side line and found a buldge in the same location. I have replaced that line as well. I have saved the lines incase someone would like to inspect them. I did not notice any symptoms proir to the failure. The only warning lamp or message I received was after I had lost some brake fluid.

Truck was just recently serviced with oil chang and fluids toped off. Drove to work in the morning with no issue. Went to leave after my work day my brake light and check fluid warning came on. Looked all over vehicle and could not find any leaks. Filled brake reservoir with dot 4 fluid and everything went back to normal. Drove a couple miles and brake lights and warning came back on and brake pedal went to the floor almost running a stop sign as I hurriedly used the emergency brake to stop. Pulled to a empty lot and again went over entire vehicle even pulled carpet back from fire wall to check for leaks. Nothing everything is dry. Apon searching the internet I found there is a recall for the exact same issue same years and vehicle but my vin isn't a part of the recall

I came to an intersection and stopped. While my foot was on the brake pedal it became soft after 5 seconds and then was depressed to the floor board. While remaining stopped I pumped the brakes and they continued to be soft and spongy. I then proceeded through the intersection and proceeded to enter Interstate 10 just outside of Luling, TX. While traveling at 70 mph I tried my brakes again and quickly realized I didn-??t have the ability to stop. I slowed my speed, found the next exit ramp and pumped my brakes and down shifted to bring my 2016 Ford F-150 to a stop on the shoulder. While stopped I pumped my brakes again and the brake pedal went directly to the floor with no resistance. My truck was not safe to drive so I had it towed to the nearest town of Luling, TX. The mechanic diagnosed the problem where the rubber brake line on the right front wheel had ruptured causing the loss of hydraulic pressure and fluid.

I would like to bring to your attention two safety concerns regarding the 2016 Ford F150 model, specifically related to the braking system and the panoramic roof hardware. I have experienced these issues which may pose potential risks and compromise the safety and functionality of the vehicle. Brakes Dragging or Caliper Seizing: Brakes on my 2016 Ford F150, which have experienced dragging brakes or caliper seizing. This issue can lead to premature wear of brake components and a decrease in stopping efficiency, compromising the vehicle's ability to come to a complete and timely stop. Such a condition poses a significant safety hazard, especially during emergency braking situations or when driving downhill. Panoramic Roof Hardware Made of Plastic: Another safety concern I have identified involves the panoramic roof hardware in the 2016 Ford F150. The hardware used in the construction of the roof assembly includes plastic pieces that may become dislodged and fall into the track, causing the roof to become stuck in a partially open or closed position. This malfunction could result in the inability to fully close the roof, leading to potential exposure to weather elements or reduced visibility while driving. All of these things the Ford Motor Company is aware of.

The contact owns a?2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed. The vehicle failed to stop immediately rear-ending another vehicle. No air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to his neck and back but did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed. Additionally, the contact stated the vehicle consumed an excessive amount of oil and the key fob failed to function as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

My vehicle lost all break pedal function and lost all breaking during operation. I was able to reduce speed and avoid a serious accident on the highway at 55 mph. Individuals in front of me could have been injured had I not been able to stop using the emergency brake. It seems that there is an issue with the brake master cylinder on this vehicle. Warning lamps and message came on after the failure. This vehicle has been scheduled for inspection on 02/23/2023 at 11:00 am.

1/26/2023 front left brake line failed resulting in minimal stopping ability and loss of brake fluid. Right side brake line was inspected and replaced with a bulge in the line. Greatly reduced ability to stop, used extreme caution to immediately drive to repair service shop. Photos provided by the service shop that made the repair. They replaced both front brake lines and refiled the brake fluid and bleed the brake lines. No inspection by manufacture, police, or insurance. Failure did not result in accident but certainly compromised safety due to reduced stopping ability. No symptoms leading up to the time of failure. Upon the brake line failure, the brake indicator light came on and warning of low brake fluid. Truck is currently being repaired at time of reporting so the final invoice is not availble yet.

The brake fluid reservoir cap cracked for reasons unknown allowing debris and contaminants to enter my braking system. I noticed this while checking the engine air filter. I went to the dealership to purchase a new cap and the parts salesman inform me that this is a very common issue... I'm concerned that issues my arise in the future relating to this problem.

The master cylinder. About August of 2021 I noticed that when I tried to brake, the pedal would lose pressure and I would start rolling until I applied more pressure. Eventually it got to the point where the pedal would go to the floor. I replaced the master cylinder and everything worked perfectly until again August of 2022. This time I had to warning of gradually losing pressure in the brake pedal. I was coming onto a feeder road off the highway and tried to slow down but noticed there was no pressure on the brake pedal. Thankfully in both cases no accidents occurred but not having brakes work properly is incredibly dangerous. I replaced the master cylinder again and it is working fine for now. I noticed the 3.5l has the recall but my truck is 2.7l but I'm having the exact same issue.

I had brake line rupture behind front right wheel and it caused immediate brake failure due to loss of fluid rapidly. There was no indication prior to this failure. My front brake lines had to be removed and replaced to correct problem. I had recently had my brake pads and rotors replaced at 104,000 mile this past June. My dealer had done at this time a full inspection of braking system in June. Yesterday, my brake pedal went all the way to the floor and I had to use emergency brake to stop.

The brake pedal loses pressure when applied. If applied for an extended period ( stopping at a red light ) the pedal will reach the floor. This can cause a serious accident. There have been 2 recalls addressing this problem but my vehicle was not listed in the either recall ( 20S31 & 22S11 ). My vehicle was built in Kansas in July 2016. Recall # 20S31 was issued for vehicles built Aug.1st. 2013 thru Aug. 31 2014. Recall 22S11 was issued for vehicles built Aug. 2 2016 thru Jan. 31 2017. There seems to be an on-going problem for this time period.

The front left brake line ruptured unexpectedly (no warning lamps leading up to the incident, no reduction in braking leading up to the issue; just sudden, unexpected loss of braking ability). Fortunately, this occurred while backing out of a parking spot; had this failure occurred moments earlier while driving on the highway, this could have been a much more dangerous situation. Following failure of the brake line, vehicle was towed to local dealership, who confirmed it was the brake line that failed "due to normal wear and tear", and that the master cylinder and other components were in good condition. The line was described by the mechanic to be "dried out and cracked from age" leading to a rupture. This vehicle was manufactured in 2016 with ~82,000 miles and has undergone routine maintenance as prescribed; so "normal wear and tear" does not seem so normal to me.

Downshifting while I was driving happened without warning. Besides the gear switch, I noticed problems with the speedometer, erratic gear shifting, and the transmission stuck in one gear. I could have caused a major accident by the vehicle as I was at moderately high speed in motion when the vehicle began to fail. I did also bang my head on the steering wheel when the truck began to decelerate on its own! Mechanics told me it was a problem with the OOS (Output Speed Shaft Sensor). I could have got in a major accident had I not had a quick reaction to the truck automatically downshifting while at a high rate of speed. There is currently NO recalls for the 2016 F-150 model however, I did research and found that there are issues recalls for this VERY same problem for older F-150 models. This is an incredibly dangerous problem. My truck at this time only has 66,000 miles. Not very many miles on it for a 2016 to have this type of issue. Major research needed to get this resolved asap! People-??s lives are at stake with this truck!

Brake pedal is hard to push down and doesn't work. Pedal is stuck high then slams to the ground with no warning. On several occasions I have almost rear ended the vehicle in front of me. This is a safety issue for myself, my children, and other drivers. This has happened numerous times. Ford has a recall for this same reason on other years and models of the Ford F-150. They need to include the 2016 in the recall as well. There is an internal brake fluid leak. I have taken to local dealer and they tell me there is no problem. When the brakes fail there is no warning, no lights, no chimes, nothing.

On 12/20/21, while driving home on State Route 7 from work, the low brake fluid warning appeared. I tried the brakes and as I tried to slow down, the pedal went all the way down. I almost went off the road but after pumping it was able to slow a bit. I was merging onto Interstate 8 West and slowly drove to figure out where to get off. The best off ramp was Imperial since it was uphill and managed to pull over after getting off and stopping the truck. Replaced the lost liquid and my brother in law followed me to his home. Same issue with brakes and slowly took it to his home. Took the vehicle to Ford dealer assuming that a recall on F150 due to master cylinder failure and leaking fluid onto the booster, which occurred to my vehicle that it would be covered in good faith by Ford. My VIN was not listed although the issue was similar to the recall. After calling the NHTSA and Ford, there was nothing else that I could do at that time but pay the service. My complaint is that I almost had an accident due to an issue that Ford had recalled various trucks and did not include my truck. The least that Ford can do is in good faith and that it was not an accident due to this failure, that repayment is made on the cost to repair master cylinder and booster.
