2016 Ford F150 with 90,900 miles should not need to have transmission replaced but after taking it to a trusted transmission shop that was their recommendation. Problems started with truck shifting in and out of gear at low speeds and dash shift display disappearing for 10 - 30 seconds. Service wrench would display but then go away when vehicle went back into gear.
Transmission shop scanned code which revealed lead frame issue, but metal chunks were also found in the pan. So instead of a $1,000 repair now I am looking at a complete transmission replacement for $6,000!! Ford should step up and be covering part of the cost of the known issues with these transmissions.
