The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rear window defroster failed to operate as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the dealer did not have the equipment or capability of repairing the vehicle. The contact was then referred to an independent mechanic who provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
