The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after entering the vehicle and attempting to close the door, the latch failed to latch as designed. The door required several attempts before latching securely. The door-ajar warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V652000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V652000 (latches/locks/linkages). The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The contact also requested a buy back by the manufacturer which was denied. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
