This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
2017 F150 with 35700 miles. While washing the truck the paint started to peel off from the upper right hand side of the tailgate, Very annoying! I took it down to the local FORD dealer, Big Valley FORD in Stockton, where I bought the vehicle. They said they would look into the issue. Did not hear back from them, so I had to call them. All they said was, FORD would not cover the paint peeling. They did not offer any other solutions - just nothing they could do?
I called the FORD costumer line and they pretty much said because the trucks bumper to bumper is out of Warranty the only thing is to get an estimate at a FORD Dealer and there might be financial assistance? I was not giving that option at the Dealer? I would think paint should not just peel off if it was painted correctly? Not really sure where to go from here? I guess I could find another dealer to take it to OR just find a good auto body shop and have it fixed.

In driving back from Florida vacation, with only 3500 miles on the truck, the front hood has chips to bare metal in 3 places, 1 place above gas fill and 3 spots on drive door. The paint is entirely too soft, and when I hand waxed it last week, now the color is coming off. Dealer has been made aware twice.

Waited 6 months for my 2017 raptor (Ordered in August 2016, took delivery on Feb 8 2017. upon waxing the truck for the first time approx 3 days after I took delivery I saw 3 chips in the paint down to the metal and a small dent (front center of the roof). Also found 8 missing bolts on both rear wheel wells that looks like it holds the flared out fenders to the body of the truck. Dealership is addressing these issues but I am pretty disappointed.. Truck went to the body shop March 1st, still waiting to get the truck back as of this writing, March 4th)

Warranty does not cover the paint issue and a lawsuit I read has been established, but I have not read any new developments from it. The car is under 5 years old and I purchased it brand new. I washed and waxed the vehicle once a week and this issue should not happen. Peeling on the roof and tailgate.
