Ford recalled 1.4 million trucks for the lead frame. Models effected were 2011-2013. This 2017 model was also effected with a defect in the lead frame but not on recall list. Parts are back ordered. Truck would not downshift below third gear even at a complete stop.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the gear shifter was shifted into drive, the instrument panel indicated that the vehicle was in neutral. Additionally, when the gear shifter was shifted to reverse, the instrument panel indicated that the vehicle was in park. The contact was informed by an independent mechanic that similar vehicles were subjected to NHTSA campaign number: 17V053000 (power train, electrical system). The vehicle was taken to johnson Ford (694 East St, pittsfield, MA 01201) where the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

2017 Ford-F150 10 speed transmission, shifts harsh, at lower gears. Most recently 8/2/2020 this vehicle lost engagement without power to accelerate into gear after pulling out in front of fast moving traffic. This is the 4th time this vehicle has been in for the harsh shifting almost causing whiplash to myself and passengers. This is the 2nd time in July-2020 this vehicle was in for the loss of power, engagement unable to accelerate into gear and harsh shifting.

The vehicle was taken to wyatt johnson (646 thompson ln, nashville, tn 37204, (615) 244-3615) and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

Very dangerous wiring design. Wire harness too close to engine exhaust manifold, turbo - as result - melted wires. Tin foil did not protect from melting. Happened while driving on 75 interstate - vehicle looses power steering, cruise control and throws faulty overheat. Contacted manufacturer about it - was given run around.

Lower engine oil pan gasket and front timing cover both leaking oil. Noted during oil change. Vista twin panel sunroof / moonroof cables in track assembly stuck, motors burnt out. Attempt to open roof while car was still, roof partly opened, motors made noise as if trying to slide open but were stuck. 30 seconds (approx) of noise then silence. Buttons to close are not functional, button to open causes small movement in panel to lift up and down, then stops. Moonroof is stuck slightly down and open.

Vehicle rolled forward approximately 12 feet while was in park in a parking lot until it stopped via going up the curb. Vehicle showed that the gear shift was in park and it was parked for approximately 5 minutes before it rolled forward. Am aware of other 2017-18 150S having a pin missing in the transmission but my vehicles VIN is not included in that recall.

My 2017 Ford F150 has problems with the transmission, but Ford Motor Company has refused to honor the powertrain warranty and will not authorize the dealership to repair or replace it. The details of what has happened are described in one of two pdf files that I will attach to this submission. I believe that the problem I am having may be widespread and that Ford dealerships all over the country may be refusing to repair or replace defective transmissions because Ford Motor Company will not authorize their dealerships to do this warranted work. One of the problems I have had with the transmission is in my opinion potentially dangerous and lethal. On December 24, 2019, while merging on to a busy highway from the on-ramp, with the transmission in sport mode, my truck did not accelerate as I entered the lane adjacent to the on-ramp. When I stepped on the gas pedal, the RPM dial went up to about 6000, but nothing happened. The speed of my truck did not increase, causing the vehicle behind me in this lane to almost rear-ended me. Had this other driver not been paying attention and failed to apply his or her brakes, a serious accident could have occurred. Although the dealership has been very cooperative and has even offered to replace my vehicle with a newer and more expensive one (which I declined), Ford Motor Company (with whom I have traded emails about this) appears so far to be unconcerned and content with the concept that an apparently defective transmission in at least one (possibly millions) of its F150S could compromise the safety of its driver. I am deeply concerned.

While driving and accelerating a loud screeching noise would occur. It would happen once speeds of greater then 30mph. It was coming from the front driver side tire well. It turns out it was a bad iwe solenoid. After doing research this is very common among F150S.

Bought truck drove 40 miles home starting making ticking noise. Called dealer said common problem took to dealership coundnt fine problem. Tonight the motor blew up. Dealership not answering phone calls. Truck only has 30000 miles on it. Don't know what to do. Technican said he thought it was the cam phasers but they didn't fix

The 2017 F-150 raptor has 31,000 miles on it. In the last 5000 miles the trucks 10 speed automatic transmission has started to shift up and down with abruptness. The shift is noisy and harsh to the point that the whole truck jerks and lunges forward when shifting from park to drive. The transmissions also shifts down real hard so as to cause the passengers the feeling that the truck has been rear-ended by a another vehicle. At this point the transmission is slipping and taking a left turn on a flashing arrow intersection is very dangerous. Ford says this is a normal behavior of the truck although for the first 25,000 miles none of the transmission issues existed. This is a continuous problem.

Driving from California to Oregon through Nevada on interstate when vehicle started to overheat Nevada dealer would not even look at the vehicle. Informed Ford Motor Company. Continued to Oregon and then on to bozeman Montana. Vehicle is now at bozeman Ford having the motor dismantled for diagnosis. Was told there is a issue with the number one cylinder, Ford corporation has not been of any help what so ever.

Car randomly slips out of gear while driving. Will then try to accelerate after braking and truck slams into first gear rocketing you forward and disrupting driving pretty violently. Sometimes it is easy to get off the road and other times it is extremely dangerous. Generally once I turn off the engine and start it again it is ok for a while. But this is no way to drive and not safe with my kids riding with me. Luckily I drive mostly around town and not on and off highways! this has happened multiple times over the past year. Truck has been in for recalls but no help. Going back in now to see if they can actually 'find' the problem!

Cold cranking noise concerning ecoboost system and lifters...making loud noise and I am being told it's normal...plus clunking noise underneath my truck that sounds like the motor or the drive shafts is going to fall out...I am also being told by dealership that this is normal...I know better...the truck is defective and unsafe. Now they are refusing to address the issues.

On 01-24-2019, I stopped at a red light and noticed an odor coming from my 2017 Ford F-150 truck and saw some smoke coming from under the hood. A motorist next to me pointed to the bottom of the truck; I rolled down the window and he said he thought there was a fire under the truck. I pulled over, shut off the truck, saw a small fire on the frame under the engine. The other motorist put it out with a fire extinguisher. A state police officer called the fire dept. Who further extinguished the smoldering. The vehicle was towed. My insurance company sent an adjuster who concluded that the fire was caused by a failed pinon seal in the differential, which is part of the power train. The legal department of Ford Motor Co. (office of general counsel) stated that the fire occurred because the vehicle was driven on pavement in 4WD. I assert that this is not true and is a tactic of Ford Motor Co. To avoid honoring their product warranty or taking responsibility for a potential safety hazard.
