I was driving on the PA turnpike and upon hitting a pothole or bump the mount on the frame that the lower control arm bolts onto broke off. I was going under the speed limit with two small children in the car and a piece of my frame broke off after a slight bump. Every mechanic and person I speak to at ford is saying it shouldn't have happened and they can't believe it. There was no warning and I drove onto the turnpike got almost all the way home before it randomly broke. I spoke with Ford and they are unwilling to help after running my VIN. They say unless I put a complaint in and you open a recall that they will not help me. This is a 2017 truck with minimal rust it should not be breaking off a simple bump on the highway. I had a 9 year old and a 10 month old in the car and the front left of my suspension broke away from the vehicle after routine driving. Something needs to be done about the situation ford should be more concerned they have a frame break on such a new vehicle. Thank you for your time.

Frame & suspension problem. Left front wheel attaches to frame was rusted and the wheel tilted in so it was not drivable. Fortunately, I was not driving at highway speed. Otherwise, I easily could have lost control of my truck. Navarre Ford Body Shop, St. Louis, Michigan looked at the damage & shipped it to Grand Rapids Michigan, ProAm Collision & Mechanical for repairs to frame & suspension. They are calling it a fractured frame. The two parties above have inspected the vehicle. There was no police report filed. No warning lights etc. Noticed issue with left front wheel while driving in residential area.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150 Super Duty. While driving 70 mph over an object in the road, the driver's side wheel shook violently and the entire vehicle experienced a "death wobble". the "hill assist" and "service track" messages appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to stucky Ford (500 broad St, hollidaysburg, pa 16648, (844) 200-3673) where the bushing chambers were changed a few times, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was unknown.

Ford Motor Company documentation (2017 rv & trailer towing guide) states this model of truck, with the Ford 3.5L ecoboost engine, can safely tow 11,500lbs (maximum loaded trailer weight). Based on personal experience and consulting multiple trailer towing experts, this is a misrepresentation of the material facts and capabilities of this truck. Additionally, it puts unsuspecting drivers in an unsafe and dangerous driving situation.

Driving down the interstate cruise set at 70 mph hit a couple small patch spots and the the steering wheel went crazy jerking around like I had a blowout. I merged to the apron of the interstate to slow and stop. When I was almost stopped the jerking quit. I notified dealership and took it to them they found nothing wrong with the truck. I started research myself and the problem is known as a death wobble. Very disappointing from a new truck with 8000 miles on it. There are several videos out there of this problem. Ford needs to address this issue before a bunch of people are killed.
