problem #4

F-150 Suprime V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

The transmission from third gear shifts hard and makes the truck jerk. I took it to the Ford dealer and they say its okay, everything looks good with the truck but if it was okay, it should drive okay. I got it to a non-dealer mechanic and he told me it was the transmission and it would cost me $8-10K to change it.

Feels like trans is slipping. Will update after dealer checks it.

problem #2

F-150 XLT 3.5L V6 Twinturbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

When moving forward at a somewhat slow rate of speed (approximately 5 mph and slowly increasing) as the transmission shifts between 2nd to 3rd to 4th, there is some tugging back and forth taking place as the transmission shifts to higher gears. This does not happen consistently. Sometimes there is no problem at all. Seems like it can't make up its mind to shift. Sometimes it slams into gear... very seldom. Maybe from pressure build up.
