Musty mildew odor started coming out of my air vents when I first started the truck. At first I did not notice it and thought it would be an odor that came from the outside, but after a week of always smelling this odor in the morning I realized this is an issue.
The truck has only 20000 miles and should not be having this issue unless something is malfunctioning and letting water or condensation sit inside the vents for an extended period of time. Went to the dealership and they said to get used to this and that it was a common. Meanwhile My Nissan has had the same cabin filter for the last 10 years and never had any issues with mold building up inside the vents. I am very sensitive to mold and paid 100 dollars for an evaporator clean up process. I think this is a design deficiency.
