Vehicle transmission is shifting hard and often time slipping. Causing us to lose power until it finally gets into gear. It's nearly caused us accidents due to the sudden loss of power. It is available for inspection. We live in an area with high traffic tourist volume and has caused us multiple near accidents. It has been checked by a mechanic. The code thrown every time was P0732. The code was thrown the first time it did it 2 weeks ago.

The vehicle as of 12/9/2023 at 3:00pm CST is at a mileage of 79,503. We are consistently experiencing the slipping of gears when the truck is switched from park to drive. The first couple gears seem to slip as it accelerates. The speedometer will be showing at under 10mph, and the truck will jerk forward. The engine/transmission gets loud as if the car is still in a lower gear as it-??s accelerating. While it-??s jerking and making the loud noise, the speedometer will not go over 10mph. We are concerned that it is a problem with the powertrain control module. It seems to happen when the shift lever is moved from Park to Drive, possibly it causes a loss of gear indication on the instrument cluster display and a momentary selection of an unintended gear, such as Reverse or Neutral before the vehicle achieves the Drive function. We have a column shifter.

When I first start driving the transmission does not seem to know what gear it should be in. It will start in first, jump to four and even at a stop with remain in fourth. As I start to move it will drop back to first and then jump to eighth. It will bounce between gears like this for the first half a mile or so then seems to settle back down. When it is jumping around gears the shifting is extremely hard and causes the truck to lunge, shaking the passengers and driver. I have started to notice over the last couple weeks it is getting worse and lasting longer into the day.

How is there not a recall yet? I'm still making payments on my 2018 Ford F-150 which I purchased in 2020. The first problem I experienced happened when accelerating to pass a slower moving vehicle (into oncoming traffic). Instead, my truck slowed substantially (70 mph down to 40 mph) preventing me and all the other drivers behind me from passing. Fortunately, there wasn't a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane...although, I'm not sure a head on collision would've resulted in a recall! I was told that the EcoBoost was the reason...that term is deceiving to say the least. This may/ may not have led to the bigger problem, my transmission. It's obvious Ford's 10 speed automatic transmission is far less than good. However, there is a safety risk when the gears change on their own, while driving, with children! Aside from the bang or jolt from the gears switching while in motion, it's frightening when the gear changes from 7th to 2nd on the freeway and the rpms rev very high, or when the gear starts in 7th from a stop sign...it takes a while to accelerate nonetheless! Shame on you Ford for not issuing a recall sooner! Very fortunate that this hasn't resulted in a major collision with fatalities...or perhaps there has been and there weren't any survivors to report it! I am not happy and will continue to update my complaint as I work my tail off to make money for a new transmission. Goodbye...until my next break.

Wrench indicator warning light led to diagnosis that transmission replacement is needed. Verified (twice) by Ford Service Department and Reputable Ford Mechanic. Defective 10 speed automatic transmission: shift solenoids cause gears to shift up and down erratically, occasionally shifting with a jolt or bang.

problem with speed control, will not turn on sometimes, turns off by itself while being used and then can not be turned back on. sometimes after it shuts off while using it will let you use the resume button but you can not adjust the speed and after using it like this it will shut off again and then it will not rest until you turn off the engine and restart it, then the whole process starts over again or not because it will not turn on at all. this problem started May 2022 and has persisted til now June 2023 Ford dealers are no help just want your money with no fix should be a recall

1. Vehicle accelerates on its own when shifting into drive and releasing the brake. 2.Vehicle lunges forward when the transmission is shifting from 1st to 2nd gear or 2nd to 3rd gear. This occurs in the lower gears only. 3. Doesn't shift into the next higher gear and the RPM's are running high which should activate a gear change but it doesn't occur. 4. The RPM's are increasing but there is very little movement of the vehicle. It feels like the transmission is slipping. 5. These problems are not consistent. It may occur once a week or 3 times a week. These problems go away if I stop moving and return the vehicle to the PARK position and they have never occurred over 40 MPH.

Unknown Mykey has me hostage. When I purchased my vehicle they only had 1 key. Not realizing that setting up the MyKey for my vehicle, I would be putting myself and others that drive on the road with me grave danger. I purchased my truck in March of 2019 and I the fall of 2021 I didn-??t think nothing of it by setting up the Mykey for my Ford F-150. Well without further a due I realized that the restrictions that the Mykey puts on there owners. Driving on the freeway or anywhere one may have to pass another vehicle quickly. Hang onto your hat because the speedometer stops at 80 and you just might find yourself between an on coming vehicle and the vehicle you were trying to get around before he thought about not allot you to-?? In the last 15 months there-??s been to many near misses because of the MyKey restrictions on my speedometer-?? Ford says they can-??t turn the Mykey off without another key-??.They ant my to pay $400 for a spare key-?? They need an Administration Mykey Key & standard Mykey key to delete the mykey functions. Now to me, that doesn-??t make since what so ever to be able to set up the Mykey function with only 1 Key when you need 2 to Defunction them.

While traveling on a straight and level interstate freeway with the cruise-control set to 75mph. A huge loss of power followed by a hard downshift from 10th to 7th, up to 9th and attempting to shift back into 10th before I decided to reduce speeds and pull over because it was very dangerous surging/uncontrollable for moments for myself and those driving around me. I noted smoke pouring out from behind the vehicle and that the transmission temp was at 226F. NO WARNING LAMPS/MESSAGES OR OTHER SYSMPTOMS NOTED. Once pulled over, I inspected the underside of the vehicle and noted the whole underside coated in automatic transmission fluid (Red in color). The fluid seemed to trace back to just before the engine/transmission interface. Transmission was serviced 7k miles prior. Dealer advised (through email correspondence) that I let the vehicle/transmission cool down and can then continue to drive the vehicle as the ATF foams up/ expanding and spills out of the transmission vent tube. If problems persist to bring in the vehicle for inspection.

While driving down the highway at the speed limit (75 mph), my truck suddenly lost power and partially lost braking. The engine was still running but was running at an idle speed RPM. Both an audible voice and a message on the driver information panel said "drive mode not available, service is needed" Braking power was partially lost at the same time. Steering power seemed normal but braking power was also partially lost at the same time. My truck started slowing down, obviously, and as soon as a shoulder was available, I pulled over onto the shoulder and let my vehicle speed decrease. I only had partial braking power (I estimate less than 30%) so was unable to quickly come to a full stop. As my truck slowed to a speed of about 5 mph, it suddenly started working again, although an icon shaped like a wrench appeared at the bottom center of the driver information panel. At the same time of the issue described above, the air conditioning and air blower fully stopped at the same time, and the multifunction display used for audio and navigation went blank for a moment and reset itself. When it came back on the navigation portion of the screen gave a "GPS faulted" error. I was able to finish driving to work, where I parked the vehicle. Later, after work, and after the vehicle had been parked for several hours, the truck behaved normally, the wrench icon was gone and there was no indication at all that there had been any issue. I was in congested traffic at the time of the event and it could have resulted in a serious highway traffic accident involving multiple vehicles.

I-??ve been having whistling/rattling in my truck for the last couple of weeks. Tried to make an appointment with my local dealer for the Cam phaser CSP out by Ford for 2018, and other, year models with this issue among other transmission/powertrain issues/problems/defects. I was at a stop light with a red light and waiting for my green left turn arrow. Left turn arrow turned green and I stepped on the gas; my RPMs skyrocketed, stayed in gear 2, and was traveling between 5-10 mph. After roughly 100ft, the transmission switched gears from 2 to 6th gear and the turbos kicked in and I ended up slamming my head in to my steering wheel. This was the last/final straw. The engine has been questionable at best the last couple months and this was the first time I-??ve felt like I am no longer driving the safe, reliable vehicle I thought I had purchase. I have a service appointment scheduled with one of my local dealerships. I hope they fix this issue because if they don-??t/these life endangering transmission/powertrain issues persist I will be hiring a lawyer and fighting for lemon law.

When shifting into 4th gear the vehicle will shift roughly almost as a brake tap before automatically increasing on its own to 25-28mph. This even occurs with speed control on. All of this occurs while in motion on city streets and entering highways. This has been occurring for the past 8 months. Every time the vehicle is in motion.

When starting my F-150 there's was a loud pop I suddenly turned off the vehicle then turned it on again but it did not make any odd noises. When pulling out of the parking lot acceleration was acting up O heard another pop and my vehicle suddenly went into limp mode slowing my vehicle way down causing me to nearly get rear ended. From there I managed to coast into a parking lot and called a tow truck. When the tow truck dropped off the vehicle the guy at the dealership said that I was acting fine but they would keep it a couple days but since it isn't acting up there wasn't much they could do. The truck is a year old and only has 5.300 miles.

The first time the acceleration on my F150 stuck, I was on a country road. I was braking on a down hill to a stop sign. I made sure I was not double peddling and then slamed down on the brake peddle. I had plenty of space before the stop sign and slamming the brake regained the control. I did not report this to my Ford dealer. I did not know that it would be an issue. Approximately 4 months later the truck did it again. This time I was backing up and had my foot on the brake peddle again. I did not have enough time or space to regain control and I struck a tree, which stopped the vehicle. It caused major damage to the tailgate, bumper, light assembly, and passenger side bed fender. I parked the truck and walked away for several hours. When my husband went to move the truck, the brake peddle sank straight to the floor, like there was a lot of brake peddle movement and no brake pressure. I do not believe the gas peddle was sticking, more like the computer was accelerating when the gas was not engaged. My Ford dealership ran diagnostics that day and it had no code issues. Ford legal retained the truck and ran diagnostics again 3 months later and again no codes. Still do not have an answer to what caused the acceleration issue. Ford said there was no issue with the braking system. I would very much like to know if there has been similar occurrences with other 2018 F150's.

While driving down interstate 10, my transmission abruptly downshifted to 1 at ~55 mph!! this was the worst of several instances of the transmission either failing to shift properly or jerking the vehicle when shifting gears. I've also had the vehicle stuck in 2nd gear while trying to enter the freeway. The dealership and Ford Motor Company show no concern as they rely on service codes instead of road tests and customer input. I hope I'm able to get another vehicle from a manufacturer I can trust. It's unfortunate because I have owned Ford F-150S for the past 6 years and driven them since high school. This new 10-speed transmission should've never been released to the public. I see others are having the same issue so hopefully a class action lawsuit is soon to follow!
