F-150 XLT 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

Slips from second to third gear and down shifts hard from 4th to third. Only when its cold out, even after it was in to correct the problem once already.

Update from Jul 21, 2023: Back to the loud 'clunk' at times when puting it in gear, slipping at lower gears and not shifting correctly in sport mode.Under extended warranty but will wait till close to the end before I take it back in.

F-150 STX 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,293 miles

Ten speed transmission still slips between third and fourth gear when upshifting under light acceleration. I provided the dealer with several videos demonstrating the RMPs increasing by 1000 to 1500 without a corresponding acceleration. Dealer had the truck for a week. Dealer indicated they could not find or duplicate the issue.

F-150 STX 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,894 miles

Ten speed transmission slips between third and fourth gear when up-shifting under light acceleration. During the slip the RPM's increase by 1000 to 1500 (typically) without corresponding acceleration. Dealer indicated I didn't know how to drive a ten speed transmission. I advised the dealer (20 something year old service manager) that I had been driving for well over 40 years.... up to and including 18 wheelers. Further I understand how transmissions and engines work fairly well...

2018 F150 Transmission Jerky/Laggy – Safety Hazard

Transmission issues started a few months ago that felt like slipping, stalling and jerking - the RPMs would climb between gear but then would slam into the next highest gear while screeching the tires, sometimes violently. Similar issues downshifting. I’ve taken it to the dealership twice (100K mi warranty), but each time they claim it’s fixed but the jerking/lagging became more aggressive/violent. This isn’t just a driving comfort issue, it’s a driving safety issue. My truck has stopped moving forward while pulling out onto a busy road in front of oncoming traffic - the RPMs climbed, then slammed into the next gear and squealed the tires.
