Transmission almost locks up at highway speeds with high temperature at the gage and transmission leaking lots of fluid onto the exhaust (fire hazard). Has happened several times and dealer still has no idea how to fix. The below date is just the latest as I had just picked up the truck the day before. Below answer to was there a fire, nope not yet.

Hard shifts into 2nd gear and also 4th into 5th gear. Sometimes when first started and put into reverse there is a hard clunk sound made from transmission. Other times it completely skips 2nd and 4th gear but stays in 1st and 3rd longer than it probably should. On at least 2 occasions it has sort of stalled out going from 3rd to 5th while going through an intersection. This transmission really has issues and should be addressed. Everytime I take it back to Ford they say they will reprogram it but warranty won't cover it. This happens daily but I'm just going to put today's date below.

Vehicle, a 2019 F150 limited with 10R80 10 speed transmission has had transmission related issues since delivery. There has been a chattering sound on deceleration and various transmission performance related issues with the vehicle. Vehicle was taken to crown Ford, fayetteville nc, in September of 2020 within the first 5,000 miles of ownership to address the chattering/hard shifting issue. The truck spent 34 days in the shop and I was told the problem was with the rear axle housing and wheel bearings which were replaced. The transmission issues continued to occur after the fix. I took the vehicle back and spoke with service manager and senior mechanic to let them know there were still issues. The mechanic rode with me and advised me not to leave the truck at the shop again and that "whatever it was, it's nothing major wrong with your truck" and to continue driving it. Issues have become progressively worse with a noticeable "clunk" when starting the truck or shifting into gear. The truck has lost power between shifts while in notion and has exhibited extremely harsh shifts numerous times, so much so that it felt like I hit something in the road. The truck now is now acting like it doesn't want to shift and as if it has no power, as well as the appearance of a mil on the dash. Truck has been taken back to crown Ford again for diagnosis and I am awaiting results. Given the number of issues related to the F150 and this particular transmission something needs to be done to address what are serious safety and drivability issues. I have no confidence in this truck or that it will perform as advertised by Ford Motor Company in the future. This truck has been nothing but problems since purchased.

My 2019 F-150 has completely shut off while driving 2 times with an error saying "auto startstop shift to P, then restart engine". the first time this happened I was driving down my street stopped at the stop sign took a right and immediately the car turned off. The second time this occurred I was driving about 40mph down a main road and again lost all power, couldn't turn my wheel, brakes were hard to push, the vehicle had absolutely not function. I pulled to the side of the road both times place the vehicle in park and restarted the engine. Luckily this did not cause an accident but I am very fearful this will happen again and the outcome will be much worse! I took the vehicle in and both times to the Ford dealership and they were unable to make the vehicle replicate issue.

Truck has 8100 miles on it. There is a constant vibration above 60 miles per hour, rebalancing of the tires did nothing to fix it. Dealer states it is normal. Also, the 10-speed transmission shifts very hard under certain circumstances. Cruising at 74 on the highway, I would floor it and the transmission would go from 10th gear to 6th with a slam, the traction control lights would flash and the truck would slow down when I needed it to speed up. All this on a completely dry and flat road. Very dangerous. Other times, I was going 50-60 mph and floored it trying to pass someone and the truck did nothing. Didn't speed up, didn't change gears, just nothing. Again, very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 80 mph, the vehicle downshifted violently while the RPM increased to 5,000 and vehicle veered off the roadway. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact noticed that the transmission was leaking. The vehicle was towed to woodhouse Ford of omaha (3633 N. 72nd St, omaha, ne 68134, (866) 401-2340) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was low on transmission fluid. The computer was reset and the vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. The VIN was not available.

While driving, the vehicle shut off (three times now). This occurred once while turning onto another road and the vehicle stalled in a lane of traffic. When this happens, the vehicle makes you shift to park and restart the vehicle. It displays a message about auto start/stop (attached). Every time has been at relatively low speed.

Extreme jerking and hesitation. Sometimes 4WD is unusable, especially when turning steering wheel in 4WD. Actually feels like brake is applied when using 4WD. Called dealer I purchased from and was told it was "normal". hard to believe that is normal. Vehicle has 9300 miles on it. Actually the first time I tried to use the 4WD.

Today while driving home from work, a wrench-shaped indicator light on the dashboard turned on. Following this, the display notified me that the front sensor and collision avoidance were no longer available. Afterwards, the truck began to shudder and jerk around while idling at the stoplight. The rate at which the truck could accelerate began to decrease every time I would accelerate from a complete stop (a stoplight for example). Shifts also seemed very rough. Whenever the transmission shifted, it felt like sitting in a chair on a concrete floor while somebody dropped dumbbells on the ground.

Our brand new 2019 Ford F150 was having shifting problems. Very rough shift from 5 to 6th etc. Clunky. Called dealer. Was told it would "even out" driving from tx to ga it only got worse. Dealership in ga says it was shipped low of transmission fluid. It is a closed system, so they said it had to be shipped from the factory low. We drove 5500 miles with a transmission that was 2 qts low and got no errors, lights or notifications. We picked up the truck on Oct 10, 2020. It still felt very clunky, so we tried in November and early December to have it looked at again. They could not get a loaner etc. It was not serviced a second time at this point. On Dec 24th around, we were driving down I 20 going roughly 70mph. Thankfully, my husband was driving. The truck began to feel rougher on shifting ( it is an automatic) suddenly, the truck lunges like we pulled the emergency brake and it shifted from 10th gear to first, he knew to put into neutral and get off the highway. We immediately pulled to the nearest exit and drove home about 4 miles very slowly. Because it would jerk very hard if it got to 5th gear and tried to go to 6. after several days due to the holiday, the truck was towed to Ford who now say it is too full on transmission fluid and they cannot duplicate the problem. We would have crashed if I were driving. The sudden stop and sudden gear change only magnified the problems we were having already with the truck. There are numerous reports of similar issues across the country. Ford needs to do a recall before someone dies.

I was driving on a major interstate and went to pass a slower moving vehicle while I had space in the passing lane. As the truck slowed form 73- 60 mph, I got into the accelerator and the transmission dropped from 10th/9th gear to 5th. The truck shuttered and slammed into gear, almost sounding as if a semi had rear ended my truck. I had lost all power to the power train and had a warning light come on the dashboard. I have experienced random times and the last time was down right scary... took it to the dealership and they could not duplicate the problem. They have already reset the transmission to "re-learn" driving once. This has happened at 5K and 16K miles.

Vibration throughout the cabin between 54-60mph as we left the dealership. Brought it back a few days later and the service manager drove the truck with me and agreed that "there was defiantly an issue that needs to be addressed". so I set up an appointment for the following week to drop the truck off. I dropped the truck off the following week. I got a call from the service manager (same one that drove the truck) and he asked if there was a level kit installed since he drove the truck last week. I replied yes, but that has nothing to do with the drivetrain vibration! he then stated that they will not look at this as a warranty issue anymore and would charge me (even though the problem occurred 100' after I left the parking lot with my brand new truck and the fact that he drove it and agreed there is defiantly an issue (that day!) I left and won't be back. Long story as short, I looked deep into this and found thousands of trucks with the same exact issue (2015-2020) and no fix from Ford yet: Road force balance tires, no. Re-balance driveshaft, no. Replace rear axle, no. Replace driveshaft, no. Replace all rims, no. Wheel bearings, no. Brake components, no. Rear diff ring, no. Driveshaft carrier, no. Rear diff shims, no. 4-wheel alignment, no. U-joints, no. Replace all tires, no. Replace rear shocks, no. Pinon angle, no. Front drive shafts, no. Front diff, no. Shim pinion gear, no. Torque convertor, no. Trans valve body, no. Ring & pinion gears, no. This has been an issue since 2015. No recall. No tsb. Laughable.

When the vehicle is in motion and shifting from 3-4 or downshifting from 5-4 there can be a significant jerkiness or shudder. Also, occasionally when downshifting from 10 to a lower gear there is a significant jerk. We have at times thought we were rear ended as the truck really lurched. These events happen sporadically. The truck has approximately 30K miles and the transmission has been reflashed. The dealership says this is a common problem and there is nothing they can do and hoping Ford will issue a fix. We are nervous driving the truck as this may happen at anytime and could create a situation where we over react with detrimental consequences. Note, this is a random occurrence and not limited to one event. I selected the date as a placeholder.

Transmission has issues with hard shifts from the 3-4 and the 4-5 up shifts and downshifts. It has almost caused me to lurch forward into another car. The issue has also caused times where the transmission was unable to find a gear and it would lose power until it chose one and jerked the whole truck forward.

Upon starting the drive shaft is being twisted, causing a loud crack\bang from the joints. This noise\complaint is consistent with numerous tsb's and Illinois class action law suit concerning these defective 10 speed transmissions. Further, both at a stop, shifting fwd.\rev. And operating at low speeds (maneuvering in parking lots) there is a definite clunk in the rear end as you accelerate \ decelerate; this coming from the rear differential yoke\joint. This problem has\is occurring since purchase, 03\2020 and is becoming more frequent. As of 10\07\2020 the truck has 10,000 miles.
