Transmission shifting from 1st to 3rd gear. Vehicle slows down where I'm pushed forward then shifts to third with a banging sound where the vehicle jumps forward and I'm pushed back in the seat. Almost got into several accidents while I'm traffic. This started around 64.5k miles told dealer would have to leave vehicle. Problem went away but then it seemed that shifting to each gear I would be pushed forward and then pushed back as gear kicked in. Contacted dealer and was told I could not bring vehicle in because they had 6 vehicles in their garage with transmission issues and they have no parts for them. Dealer would call back on Monday or Tuesday following week. Never called me back so I called the end of that week on a Friday. Manager I was speaking to was out called following Monday went on on a Wednesday. The transmission issues had gotten worse, shifting up and down banging into gear. The dealer updated codes to see if that would correct problem. Resolution is that transmission is no good I was given 3 options. Need to buy a new transmission with install rounded up costs,10k. Option 2 would have the ford tech team disassemble the transmission to find the problem which will cost more than 10k. Last option is trade it in for a new vehicle. Today my wrench came on due to transmission code error. I feel that not only is this a safety issue it's a consumer issue as well. How does a customer deal with a truck where a transmission that is no good and is being told that by the dealer? I've kept up with all services and recalls. I see there are recalls but not for the JL3Z7000. Ford knows they have problems and are selling lemons the do not have fixes only temporary fixes. I really cannot afford another vehicle and need a vehicle for work. I hope the nhtsa forces ford to recall all their problematic transmission and extend the warranty to 7 years 100k miles.

I came off of an exit ramp, when I hit the gas, the truck went to neutral and motor reved up. I pulled off to the side of the road for a few seconds and the truck went back into gear. The truck also has a hard time going into 10th gear. It has reved up and a wrench has popped up in my dash.

The vehicle has had transmission issues from the first day. It never had second gear. The engines revs up to 6k rpm then hard shifts. And the truck lunges forward. The shifting then got so drastically bad all of a sudden at 100 k miles. The truck had zero gears and would not shift. I had to let the truck run for 30 minutes for it to shift at all. I would be driving and the truck rev up to 5/6 k rpms them lunge forward for many gears. This would happen whilst on the highway. It was super dangerous at all times, but especially pulling onto highways or crossing intersections. Now that I read about the class action law suits I realize this problem has been present the entire time and Ford knew about it. And now two payments away from being done with my $32k investment, I have to figure out a way to purchase a new truck!?

I-??ve had issues with my transmission since I purchased the vehicle new. Most of the time it just downshifts from like 4/5th gear to 1st/2nd gear and slams the truck. Very horrible shifting. I-??ve also had it before though that I-??m going through an intersection and the truck can-??t find the gear and I have no acceleration for a few seconds. Luckily I haven-??t gotten hit before. I brought it into the dealer and they reprogrammed the computer and said to try that. It seamed better for about a week and then was horrible again. The dealer did notice the jerky shifting. I-??ve also had continued issues with the radio screen not working.

I've experienced issues in my 2019 F-150 XLT 4X4 with the 10R80 10-speed transmission. The Ford dealership in Aurora, OH has informed me that a $6,400 transmission rebuild is required. The truck does have 120,000 miles on it but whatever happened to "Built Ford Tough"? HELP!!

The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. Hard shifting ! not up shifting or down shifting or it will go from 10th to 1st gear on the hwy causing loss of power, I had 2 semi trucks right behind me almost causing an accident, when stoping at a red light or stop sign it does not want to go forward trying to start in a higher gear, and causing me to be stuck in the intersection with on coming traffick. It is lounging forward on its own, it causes the RPM to red line when you are not accelorating even after you have taken your foot off the gas and are applying the brake. It is skiping gears it will go from 1 to 7th to 10th back down to 1st all within a matter of seconds, it will down shift or up shift and jump so hard that it hurts my back and makes everyone in the truck sore feeling like you got whiplash. I did take the truck to the dealership when it first started clanking hard when I put it in drive or reverse the dealership told me it was normal for that transmission and wouldnt even look at it. Since then it has only gotten worse I have reached out to serval other dealerships and explained the issues they have all told me there is no fix for this issue. They are getting so many reports for the same issue, and Ford has not found a fix for the issue. When this first started there were no wornings and no lights on the dash, now I am getting nottifications on the Ford app and there has been a wrench light ththat comes on the dash periodicly. Currently the truck is at the dealership for a full transmission rebuild suggusted by them. Costing almost $6000 and acourding to them this is the only fix for it at this time. The clutch basket has failed sending improper fluid pressure though out the transmission.

My F150 shifts hard through the gears sometimes. It's real clunky, loud and shuddering. Sometimes it shifts suddenly causing rapid acceleration or down shifts just as hard causing sudden deceleration. In traffic this is a dangerous situation, such as merging lanes. Not only is it uncomfortable and probably bad for parts. It's dangerous and not Ford tough like they advertise.

The vehicle was purchased brand new from a Ford dealership in 2019 in Virgina. Later, a service bulletin was released by Ford for a "cold start rattle" and cam phaser failure through the ford pass app and by mail. This service bulletin extended the warranty on the cam phaser parts to cover up to 100% of the cost to fix the vehicle. At that time, due to being a military family we had moved to Florida and never received the service bulletin in the mail. After reviewing the service bulletin for the vehicle on the ford pass app, it was taken to a Ford dealership in Miami to be inspected. The Ford Miami dealership did not think there was a cam phaser issue with the vehicle at that time and refused to fix vehicle. Ultimately, the vehicle was taken back to a Ford dealership in Ohio to have it reinspected for the same issue (The cold start rattle/Cam Phaser). The Ford Dealership assessed the vehicle and stated, it in fact has the known issues with the Cam Phaser failure. The vehicle is under the mileage for the service bulletin. However, Ford is unwilling to fix the vehicle due to exceeding the date of the service bulletin. This issue puts my safety and others on the road at risk, because if the cam phaser is not fixed the motor of the vehicle will fail and could potentially cause serious injury or death. The vehicle is not safe to drive at this time. This problem has been confirmed by a Ford Dealership and the vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership awaiting to be fixed. There are no warning lights on the vehicle for this issue.

Every morning I go to work and I let the engine idle down before moving as soon as I start driving gears 3 and 4 shift so hard it sometimes lunges me forward. Also just Saturday 9/15/24 I was driving with my kids in the truck and same thing gears were fine till I hit 3rd then a long pause I definitely felt the loss of momentum and then bam slams into 4th.
