The contact's son-in-law owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that there was an abnormal exhaust odor entering the cab. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware that the exhaust manifold bolts were fractured. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the manifold and bolts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was contacted, and a claim was filed with the manufacturer. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle remained at the residence and had not been driven since. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
