I have had this truck for 3 months and 14,000 miles. 7 trips to the dealer for repair, 1 solid diagnosis, 2 “can’t recreates†and the rest were “sorry we can’t get to you for several weeksâ€. Finally got one of the computers replaced ($2,500 part). Immediately after the repair, I went on a trip. After about 500 miles the lane centering stopped working. Tried a few things. It started working again after I shut down the truck for an hour. I assume this same computer just overheats. Later on trip, I drove another 500 - 600 miles and the lane centering stopped working again at the end of that segment. Let truck sit overnight. It was working again when I got up the next morning.
My understanding is that the computer is under the hood. Why would they put temp sensitive components, particularly safety related parts, under the hood? This is particularly true when they are cutting airflow down intentionally to prop up fuel mileage by blocking air flow to radiator and by putting an air valence in.
Given these systems are integral to BlueCruise, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
