The contact was able to park on the side of the road and when exiting the vehicle he saw a fire had started under the engine. The contact and his family were able to exit the vehicle safely. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. A fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A fire report was not filed. A police report was filed. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was towed to towing lot. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,800.

The driver placed the shifter into the park position and turned off the vehicle and removed the keys, but the vehicle continued on for approximately 4 minutes. There were no warning indicator lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, or fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer sent two engineers and the insurance company sent an engineer to evaluate the vehicle and requested to take possession of the event data recorder but the owner declined. The manufacturer was contacted, who provided a case number but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 3,500.

Truck check engine light came on and started to blink. The truck would shake when trying to accelerate. Pulled over, turned truck off and the light went off. When started back up it was gone. A few days later the truck did the same thing, but the light did not go off. It remained on, when accelerating the truck began to shake. When I took to the dealer, they mentioned they this truck had a check engine light on when they received, they replaced the ignition coils (under warranty) before purchasing. It-??s believed the coils may have gone again. The truck is currently at the dealers getting repaired. For a brand new truck, the coils have already needed to be replaced by dealer.
