The contact owned a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 3-4 MPH going up a sandy rocky hill while towing a trailer, he noticed smoke and flames coming from the driver's and passenger's side engine compartments. The contact was able to stop and exit the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated before the fire. The vehicle was burned to the ground when the fire department arrived on the scene. There were no reported injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The Insurance provider had the vehicle inspected by a Fire Origin Specialist however, the contact was not provided a report of any findings. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The SYNC4 system has been glitching lately everytime I engage reverse or click the button to display the cameras. Typically the glitch is minimal and nothing to be concerned about as the system resumes operation after 2 - 3 seconds. However the other day my family and I were traveling home towing our travel trailer and the SYNC4 system decided to reboot itself mid-drive at highway speeds (No buttons were pressed at this time). Upon resuming normal operation the truck felt as if it was working harder to stop us and the trailer. This is when I noticed that the SYNC4 reboot had caused the trailer brake controller to forget my camper profile and revert to default. This left the trailer applying less braking power than if my camper profile were properly engaged. I was able to recall the camper profile and complete the trip so no injuries to report but this could leave drivers unaware of the change. The truck stayed in its tow/haul mode but there were not visual indicators to alert the driver the trailer brake settings had reverted back to default. I reached out to Ford customer service and they have stated they have not heard this issue to date. I have not taken the truck to the dealer yet but I plan on having them inspect the system. I still face the glitching when pressing the camera button but have not re-produced the trailer brake reset as of now. I am also unsure if the two behaviors are related but they are both controlled by the SYNC system.

Loud popping from the speakers and static noise. Sounded like a explosion inside the cab

On 05-07-2023. I started my vehicle and suddenly through the radio speakers there was an extremely loud and painful Pop and static noise through my radio speakers at full volume. I was not able to turn it down or off by turning the radio controls, It was so loud it scared me and my family. Forced us to get off the highway and I turned the truck on and off several times which did nothing, the unbearable noise continued with the vehicle off. I rolled down all the windows and drove 5 miles home whete it continued to make the noisefor about a half hour before finally shutting off. After a while i restarted the truck and the noise has not come back. This is the second time this has happened, but this was the most sever. My pregnant daughter was 2 weeks from delivery and if a newborn would have been in the car it could have easily permantely damanged an infants hearing. My family's ears rang for a day with headaches. My truck has the B & O unleashed sound system. I have read where others have experienced this same issue and Ford has not acknowledged a problem. I called my local Ford dealer and they were not aware of the issue and gave me no guidance. I do not know if this a radio or electrical issue - but something was very very wrong. I believe that my safety and the safety of any children especially young children would be at sever risk. Very paintful experience.

Started the truck and there was a loud pop followed by every speaker in the truck blasting an ear-splitting machine-gun like sound. The volume and audio power controls had no effect. Shutting down the truck and opening the door stopped it, but it immediately start again when the truck was started. After several restarts, I hit the F-150 forums and found that pulling fuse 28 from the passenger footwell would stop it so I could drive the truck home. The next day I put the fuse back in and the issue has not reoccurred. I took the truck into the dealer at the next appointment and they were not able to reproduce the issue or find any codes (they listened to music at various volumes and channels for 20 minutes trying to reproduce it, even though I told them I had driven 25 hours since then without it happening). This issue is well known on the Ford F-150 forums with reports of some dealers trying reprogramming or replacing modules, but no conclusive fix that I've heard of. I have a video of it occurring, but the upload won't take video.

The compass information is not accurate on my vehicle. It gets stuck on North or randomly other directions and does not work. I know there are two TSBs out, one for 21s and then a second for early 22s. My truck is an August build so the TSBs do not apply. I have taken it to the dealership and they have preformed updates but it is still not working. I have a coworker with a similar build date and his truck is doing the same thing. I have checked with others on the F150 forums and its being reported as well. This calls into question if the compass is not reading right on the instrument panel what else on the panel may not be reading right?

When I took my truck into the dealership to have an oil change and tire rotation done the dealership found that the bolt that holds the hub onto the rear axle had broken so there was nothing holding the hub onto the axle and that the hub and tire could of come off the axle while driving. The dealership said that they had been seeing this issue on other truck

When I pushed the start button on my 900 mile F150 limited that I only had 6 months, I heard a very very loud noise that sounded like a bomb going off in the truck. After I gathered myself and verified nobody damaged my truck or windows and with my ears still ringing, I heard very loud static noise coming from all the speakers. I thought the loud noise that came through the speakers actually blew them out. I turned off the radio, but the speakers were still making loud static noises. I then tried to turn on am station, and the radio worked fine. If this would of happened while I was driving, I probably would of had an accident.

On Friday, December 9th 2022 I started my truck via pressing the push start button in the truck. The vehicle started and went through its normal start up procedures. However - once the Sync 4 infotainment screen began to come to life an extremely loud Pop - followed by a max volume static played for a few seconds. I was extremely confused and immediately attempted to turn the volume down using the volume control but it had no effect. At first - the pop was so loud I thought the noise was my window shattering but realized it was my stereo after the static began. Their was no active audio playing when this event occurred and after the static subsided, my speakers were unable to play any sounds until I turned the vehicle off overnight. My ears are still ringing from this event 2 days later - this is a massive safety hazard and one that seems to be getting no attention from Ford.

On the morning of 12/7/2022 I got in the truck and turned it on. All the speakers made a super loud pop/bomb/gun going off sound. Then all the speakers were making a super loud crackling sound. Had no control over the audio volume, ect. Turned it the truck off and back on, still nothing but the crackling sound. 12-?? screen and digital dash were acting weird also (delayed coming on and not synced when powering on). After several minutes started the crackling stopped and it started playing music from my carplay. Kids said they smelt a burning smell. On 12/9/2022 it happened again. Got in and before I even started it it made a loud bomb going off sound when the digital dash and 12-?? screen was starting up. Then it was fine.

Extremely ear piercing loud noise like an explosion coming from radio when vehicle was started. Glad I was not driving as it startled me. This could of caused a major safety issue. From an operational standpoint no volume from the radio until I started the vehicle the next morning. I researched the event and found other owners affected by the same or similar issue. This is why I'm on this site reporting my same experience.

I have the B&O Unleashed sound system, I started the truck up and a very loud noise came from all the speakers. Scared the heck out of me. If I was driving done the road when this happened who knows what could have happened?

B&O Unleashed Stereo system will produce deafening sound, volume maxed out. The sound is a screeching pulsing sound. It makes your ears ring it is so loud. When you turn the vehicle off it still makes the sound. Turning any of the radio dials does not lower the volume or get it to shut off. You have to get out of your vehicle and wait for the stereo to shut off, can be up to 10 minutes for that to happen. There is no way to drive with it make that noise. You have to pull over and wait for it to stop. This has happened twice in my 6 months of ownership, dealer say the typical, "Can't reproduce it".
