While driving this past weekend 24-26 January 2025, my vehicle's tailgate dropped on its own while driving. The first two instances I discovered the tailgate down when I arrived at my destination. While I only had a few light items in my truck bed, this could have been catastrophic as I was traveling at highway speeds and do typically carry heavier loads. On the third instance, I was sitting in my idling vehicle and felt and observed when the tailgate opened on its own. I have an appointment scheduled with my local Ford dealership for Friday 31 January 2025. The dealership advised me that because I am at 40000 miles and outside the 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty that I will likely have to pay out of pocket. I also called Ford Customer Service today to make them aware of this issue. They indicated they were aware of a similar issue affecting vehicles from my model year, but that that coverage only applied for vehicles built through April 2022, whereas mine was built in November 2022. They provided me with a case number (CXH-03471789) and stated they would assist with the repair and based on other reports may take further action.

The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by Rocky Ridge and endorsed by Ford Motor Company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle-??s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford Certified Collision Center and my insurance company USAA. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford Motor Company and inspected by Ford Collision Center Manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford Positon Statements and On Target Tech Bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.

Another Ford F150 Supercrew leak from the front cowling area into the passenger floorboards. This is a 2022 Hybrid F150 Supercrew built during COVID and purchased March 9, 2022. There are too many reports online of leaks due to lack of sealing components where large aluminum parts meet. For example the fender and the cowling area. This particular leak is having a dealership spend 17 book hours at $215 per hour plus parts to fix a defect in workmanship. Ford is offering to partailly pay for the fix since the vehicle is 6000 miles out of warranty. The fact it is a defect in workmanship is not a consideration. It was never sealed. Thank you

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vent clips had detached from all the air vents. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer where the clips had been replaced under warranty; however, the failure occurred. The contact stated that the failure would occur in warmer weather. The vehicle was returned to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not under recall for the failure or covered under warranty. The manufacturer had referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

Weatherstripping on sunroof is deteriorating. This could affect the safety of the driver as well as any passengers in the vehicle if it was to start leaking. Furthermore, if water entered the cabin it could affect any electrical components that might interfere with the driving of the vehicle thus causing a safety hazard to any vehicles that would be nearby if this was to happen. The vehicle was taken to the local Ford dealership on 5/29/2024 for inspection. The repair was denied because the whole sunroof would need to be replaced in order to fix the weatherstripping. No one else has looked at the weatherstripping. It was first noticed on 5/24/2024.

Noticed when the vehicle was already in motion and accelerating to get up to the street speed the truck all of a sudden starts shaking in the back. The shaking was not only in the back but in the front also. I called Ford and they stated there was nothing wrong with it. If that-??s the case the explain why the back end and front end of the truck started shaking.

While driving down interstate Friday, July 28, at approximately 6:15PM in North Augusta, SC, I heard a loud noise and could not identify what had happened. It was raining so I did not notice that the fixed portion of the panoramic sunroof over the back seat was shattered. I did not think to even look back there closely. The next morning I got into vehicle to find glass in back seat and water all over floor and seat in back. The whole panel had shattered.

Injury caused when power tailgate failed to slowly lower upon release. Upon release, the tailgate fell open instead of slowly opening as normal (it is a power tailgate). The force of the falling tailgate twisted my wrist and the tailgate hit my arm as I was unprepared for the tailgate to fail and quickly fall. The tailgate operated normally immediately after this incident.

After opening hood (front trunk) electronically, the hood will not close after pushing electrical actuation button. The hood sometimes only opens partially after pushing the button on the front edge of the grill. The hood can be difficult to latch after malfunction of the electronic open/close mechanism. The emergency exit button is likely affected by the failure to open after pushing the button. It might be possible to be trapped in the front trunk or to have to hood open while driving.

Multiple times while driving, the tailgate has come open, allowing cargo to fall out onto the roadway. There is no notification to the driver that the tailgate has been opened or that it remains unsecured. The problem has been recognized in other F-150s but I believe it is more widespread. I am unsure what causes the tailgate to open but it has happened multiple times in both city and freeway driving.

Issue #1. Forward collision sensors not working warnings keep appearing and flashing on dash. Vehicle has 12000 miles. 2. Hood popped open at speed of 90 MPH without a warning or manual operation of lever. Hood was not opened during a 500 Mile trip so operator error is ruled out. The safety latch was able to secured the hood temporarily. It was communicated to Ford Motor Co Under Incident # CAS#42214521. Phone number : 1-866 637 3788 X 79752

The tailgate opens without warning and no warning is given when it opens. The tailgate opens without warning while driving, parked and not running. This has opened on me several time causing numerous safety issues to include contents of my bed falling out on the roadway while driving. The tailgate has opened as my young daughter was walking by and it nearly striking her in the head. As I left the store today when I returned to my vehicle the tailgate was down and had opened while I was not in or near the vehicle. I contacted the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and was told that there is no recall or fix for the issue at this time. I was told they are aware of the issue but could not fix it. There are no lights, sounds or warnings to when the tailgate will open.
