Failure: Total loss of brakes, hard pedal, no airbags deployed, at estimated speed between 5 and 10 mph. Safety concern: Total loss of ability to slow down, stop or avoid impact. Crashed into a shop wall as a dealership technician with the brake lamps evidently applied before and after the impact. Reproduced: Vehicle in for ABS related faults on dash, which is why it was being pulled into the Ford dealer by a Senior Master Ford technician. Inspection by others: Not yet, vehicle has been left at impact site per management. No, there were no warnings, chimes, messages or any other symptom or sign to indicate a concern was going to happen.

While driving to work a car crossed over two lanes and pulled in front of me, I had to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision. The truck applied the brakes and that was avoided but at that moment my dash lights came on, no ABS, brake light, engine lights, and traction control all lit up. I was near my exit and got off applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. Basically no brakes, I was pumping and could hear some type of noise like a hissing or air leak. Because i was going up an incline was able to stop otherwise i would have hit someone. When I stopped could see brake fluid leaking and the truck also made like a pumping noise i believe from the brake system and another hissing sound. Had the truck towed to Ford - They stated a leaking brake line from EBB to the right front caliper. There was no leak until I slammed on the brakes. The truck has 27, 901 miles

While coasting to an upcoming stop downhill, on slightly graded slope, speed within 15mph or less, with brake slightly applied; the Automatic Parking Brake engaged on its own, subsequently resulting in the transmission shifting of drive modes to park automatically. The vehicle came to an instant, unexpected stop, while still maintaining a speed around 5mph on its own. The vehicle locked up mid-line-of-traffic, leaving the potential of a rear-end collision by following vehicle. No known damage to transmission or powertrain resulted. Adverse weather/road conditions did not play a factor at the time of incident. Incident has occurred multiple times prior, during similar environment & circumstance.

On several occasions I have unintentionally pressed the accelerator pedal in addition to pressing the brake pedal. The brake pedal is 2 inches "higher" (closer to the driver) than the accelerator pedal in its full up position. When attempting to quickly place my foot on top of the brake pedal from the accelerator pedal, my foot hits the side of the brake pedal. This issue has resulted in several near-hit accidents with a vehicle in front of me. The rapid acceleration of the Ford Lightning reduces response time to correct the braking disruption. The brake pedal may be placed higher to prevent the driver from also depressing the accelerator when depressing the brake. Other vehicles also have a higher brake pedal, but it feels like an unusually high foot lift is required in the Lightning. There is definitely something unusual about the brake and accelerator geometry in my Ford Lightning.

Brakes squeal and screech horribly, at first only when the pickup was moving in reverse but now it-??s when coming to a stop. It-??s so loud it echos in parking lots and causes people to stop and look to see where the noise is coming from. It-??s a constant problem that weather conditions do not affect. Had the vehicle in for service numerous times and Ford refuses to fix it or acknowledge there is a problem. Escalated it to Ford corporate and they also refused to do anything about it. At first I was told to wash the wheels -??extra good-?? and it would be just fine and on the last service attempt I was told that the -??brake pads just have so much metal in them by design these noises are 100% normal-?? but now the pickup seems to be losing stopping power and takes longer to stop than it normally did. Per Ford the brake pads are all 9MM and 10MM and -??perfectly fine-?? but the pickup just does not feel safe. I feel there is definitely defects in the braking system including but not limited to brake pads. And complaints are numerous in the forums and online about the same issues with the F-150 line.

Advancing forward in traffic to a stop sign on a downward slope in tow/haul mode. Stopped at the intersection and began to accelerate into a left hand turn. Initial acceleration was fine and then the rear tires locked up and squealed on the asphalt. Truck came to a stop and when I looked down the screen said the parking brake was on. I never activated the parking brake. Seemed to disengage on its own after a few seconds. Highly dangerous situation.

"Park Brake Fault Service Now" popped up on the dash when I opened the door. There is an upcoming recall on this according to: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a44690504/ford-f-150-parking-brake-recall/

Unintended acceleration / rolling may occur when vehicle is remote started through Fordpass mobile application. The 1 pedal-drive vehicle setting is NOT preserved when using remote start. Vehicle may roll down hill upon entry. Default driver profile has 1 pedal drive OFF while all device profiles linked to Fordpass and Phone-as-a-Key have 1 pedal drive ON. Fordpass mobile app remote start needs to preserve 1 pedal drive setting due to potential unintended acceleration when on flat surfaces or unintended reverse acceleration rolling down hills.

Brakes completely failed without warning or any indication that something was wrong. Lost brakes completely, and dash lit up saying ABS Fault, service advanced traction, hill start assist unavailable, pre Collison assist not available. Luckily i was able to slow down by downshifting in M and throwing it into park before it even came to a stop. Had it towed to dealer and repaired. Dealer failed to give me documentation of what was replaced and/or repaired. Luckily I just exited the highway. I could have been seriously hurt or killed. As well as someone else could obviously had been killed or hurt. I live in Colorado and 75% of my driving is down steep mountain grades. This could have ended catastrophically.

Multiple warning lights came on while going 55MPH down a straight road. Warning lights consisted of Antilock break system fault, Pre-collision assist not available, and Hill start assist warning. I did not have and breaks at all.

- Harrisburg, SD, USA
When applying brakes, the response time in incredibly slow. Sometimes when the brake is applied half way down, the truck tends to skid on the road.
