My truck now runs on 7 cylinders and sounds like a Kawasaki motorcycle. I will need to pull the engine out, pull out the heads, and re-bore the spark-plug hole. The easy fixes from O'Reilly's, and Auto Zone have not helped so I am looking at about $2,000 minimum to get it repaired, more likely than not, closer to 4 or 5 grand due to labor. Had one shop tell me that it is easier to lift the cab off the engine than drop it in many cases.

How can Ford ignore a faulty design with no recall? The spark plugs blew out of the head and broke the coil from the force. Had no problem till the dealer changed the plugs @160000 miles. Plugs blowing out is downright dangerous and a major safety issue. Could have started a fire with the gas fumes spewing. Thank goodness the Grandkids were not with me. How many people have to complain about this ongoing issue before Ford takes responsibility and fixes the faulty 5.4 motor. Consumers expect better than that for American Made Products. Take some pride in your design and responsibility for error...this concept is what America was built upon. Decision makers at Ford appear to have traded their reputation for profits by allowing their consumer's safety to be compromised.
