all my friends hate me

Hi all, I am just going to rant about this awful truck I own and how it has changed my life. This all started about a year ago when I decided I no longer wanted to own a Chevy, and that I was more of a Ford guy. My friends convinced me that I just looked more like a guy that drove something a little more feminine. So I purchased a white 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel.

From the moment I first bought it, I knew something was wrong with it. I knew that it had issues when I test drove it, but that didn't stop me from becoming a true Ford fan boy. I decided to cut off the exhaust the day I bought it, to make it sound louder. This way the whole neighborhood would hear the sound of a bearded woman coming their way, and they would have some time to hide their children before I got there. I enjoyed the sound of it, especially when I let off the gas and hear the turbo whistle. That sound just makes my toes curl up! I finally gave in and bought a lift kit and tires for it too. This really made me fall in love with this strange feminine machine.

The problems all seem to begin after the lift kit was installed. I was on my way home from my boyfriend's house and the truck just shut off in the middle of the road. I had no idea what happened. I pulled over and found that the head unit I had just installed fried a relay. I guess you can listen to Backstreet boys at full volume without this truck shutting down! I was able to get it fixed and going again soon, but more problems arose right away. I was heading to my boyfriends house again and was flooring it. I have a chip installed on the truck, so things are more likely to go wrong. The truck would not enter third gear anymore. This means that I could not go to highway speeds. This really irritated me, because I had just finished bragging to all my friends about how strong the transmission in this truck is. I slowly made it home and bought a new solenoid pack online, because I thought that was the issue. I spent about a day installing the solenoid pack and took it for a spin, only to realize that the problem still existed. Now I was starting to think that I may have made a mistake by changing gender, and I may have made an even bigger mistake by buying a Ford.

I finally found out that a valve in the valve body had failed. This was probably due to me putting the transmission under so much strain with 37" tires and a 140hp tune. After it was fixed I drove it on the highway for a while. This is my daily driver to and from work and to and from my home that's 100 miles away, an ideal economy vehicle, so it gets much use. I noticed that the transmission started leaking on the way home, and the fluid was pouring all over the road. I wasn't sure at first if my truck was leaking transmission fluid or if it was having a menstrual cycle. I kept driving it for another week before I brought it into the service shop. I found out that the transmission was toast. This is just what I get for trying to be a Ford fan boy, a big slap in the rear.

I suggest never buying this truck. It will probably do fine in its stock form, but for a typical red neck like me it just doesn't cut it. I will probably sell it and buy another diesel, maybe a Duramax. I heard those last a little longer, but I'll probably modify it to the point of breaking as well. Well that's about all I got right now, my cousin's trying to get on this here typing device. Boy is he gunna get a good lickin!
