F-250 XLT Lariat 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,246 miles

The first part replaced was the FICM and I believe the real problem was the final part replaced, which was the Fuel conditioning module and fuel pump.

The failure of the fuel pump caused misleading trouble codes.

The symptoms were complete loss of power after truck reached operating temperature. About eight miles of driving. If the truck sat over night then it would start and run fine for another eight miles.

I don't blame the mechanic for possibly replacing the wrong part first (FICM). No one is perfect.

  • Automatic transmission

AutoBeef nailed the description of this problem with... "It's a pain in the ass!" The 2006 F-250 apparently does not like to start once the engine is warm? I have heard every fix in the book, yet no one will actually document that the fix was permanent. If there is anyone out there who has pinpointed the cause of the F-250 not starting once the engine is warm... please shed some light for the rest of us!!!!

Ive had plenty of problems with this truck 6 months ago the ficm(fuel injection control module) went bad, ford replaced for 2,500 bucks. The truck started and ran well for a while but it always cranked longer than normal, now it starts fine when cold but wont fire when the engine is warm
