Just purchased the 2006 Ford F 250 with only 67,000 miles on it to tow my fifth wheel which is well under maximum tow capacity of the truck. On the maiden voyage we made it the 175 miles to the campground without incident. The next day we were returning from visiting relatives about 40 miles away and the shaking started followed by the engine shut down within five minutes. We were on a pitch dark highway but, fortunately I had enough momentum to get off the road out of the oncoming trucks and put on the hazard lights until help arrived.
Fortunately, we were able to have it hauled to a reliable shop that relatives have used for 30 years so at least I don't expect to be ripped off there! I should know the final "damage" by tomorrow.
