F-250 XLT Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 118,000 miles

This is a huge expense for a truck with so few miles. Nothing but reliability problems since the truck hit 98K miles. The amount I have paid in repairs lately I could have bought a new truck and spent less on the payments. Really disappointed in Ford reliability for such an expensive truck.

THE 1911 AND 1012 HAD DEFECTIVE TURBOS. THEY REPLACED THE REGULAR BEARINGS ON THESE TURBOS WITH CERAMIC BEARINGS THAT BLOW APART SENDING FRAGMENTS THROUGH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. MY 2012 CAME APART AT 71,000 AT A COST OF $4,493. MY SON BOUGHT A 350 SD FORD 6.7 DIESEL SAME AS MINE, SAME YEAR. HIS BLEW APART AT 75,000 MI AT A COAST OF $3,920. DIFFERENCE OREGON NO TAXES, CALIFORNIA I PAID $229.90 IN ADDED TAXES. IN FACT, FORD HAD SO MANY GO BAD THEY COULDN'T KEEP UP WITH THE REPLACEMENT, YOU HAD TO WAIT TILL ONE WAS AVAILABLE AND I DON'T KNOW IF THE REPLACEMENTS HAVE THE SAME CERAMIC BEARINGS THAT WILL FAIL AGAIN I'M NOT SURE, BUT I GOT A FEELING IT'S THE SAME TURBO.
