Very scary death wobble.at speeds from 45 to 65 mph I have taken the truck to Ford with no help. The first time they said the tires were bad. Which was very strange because they only had about 20,000 miles on them. So I replaced them at the dealer with factory originals. No fix no help from Ford

Over the past 5 months (it is now 1/30/2020) the entire front end of the vehicle shakes violently and uncontrollably at a high rate of speed, typically highway speeds, ranging anywhere from 50-80 mph. Although, it has happened at a speed of about 40-45. It happens out of nowhere with no apparent provocation, I.e., hitting a pothole, turning, hitting the brakes, etc. It usually happens when driving in a straight line and nothing seems to make it stop. I've tried hitting the brakes, slamming the brakes, continuing to hold my speed steady, accelerating slightly, and praying to god to make it stop. Nothing works, it just eventually stops but not before traffic clears all around me. It is noticeable from outside the vehicle as I have seen drivers hit the brakes and fall back in traffic around me. The violent shaking makes it difficult to keep the vehicle steady or in my lane of traffic. The violent shaking makes the vehicle bounce all over the road. It makes it impossible to hold the steering wheel steady or straight. It is terrifying and unnerving. I believe it is going to kill me or someone else. I haul trailers with heavy equipment almost daily. Many times I am on the highway or on city streets. If it continues to happen, the damage will be costly and may kill innocent people, including myself. I am afraid to think what will happen if these unexpected, violent shakes happen while I am hauling heavy equipment.

While driving at highway speeds (60mph), I hit a bump in the road and the truck began to shake violently in the front end, to a point that I felt I might lose control. The only way I could get it to stop was to significantly reduce speed. This has happened twice now and is "very" concerning. The second time was at highway speed as well, this time 70mph.

While going 70 mph after crossing a small over pass the small bump where it meets the road, sent the front end of my vehicle into what I can only say was a violently out of control shaking that I could not stop for a period of time. The whole vehicle shoot uncontrollably as I did all I could to smash the brake pedal that did very little, as well as hold on to the steering wheel that was going back and forth so hard and fast it was it could not be turned in any direction until the vehicles slowed. We were in traffic at the time and I could not control my vehicle until it slowed and I could get it to the side of the road. The shaking was very violent. I know about vehicles so I looked over the whole front end and saw nothing wrong. I drove the vehicle home, about 30 miles from the incident at 50 mph. I had a wobble around 25 mph going down an on-ramp. The mileage was around 24,000. I took it to the local dealer and the serviceman said, oh, you had a 'death wobble' and said it just needed adjustment. He never said this could happen again, or that it needs to be monitored in some way. This has been an ongoing issue per others on the internet. My truck has 57,475 miles on it.

Returning from nashville to mandeville, la we hi it a bump in the road at 70 mph when the truck began volently vibrating. Similar to a blown tire. We had to pull off the highway for it to stop. It happened four times in less than an hour.

When driving the truck on any road at speed beyond 55mph, if the truck hits a bridge joint or a bump, the steering of the vehicle will often begin to shake violently and it is very difficult to control the vehicle. The only way to stop the shaking is to rapidly slow the vehicle to approx 30mph. This becomes increasingly dangerous when your driving in heavy traffic. This common defect is going to kill somebody and should be taken seriously with a recall being issued. Its unbelievable this continues on all these trucks with no help to the vehicle owners.

I just had two experiences with 'death wobble' in one day and it was my first time dealing with it. I was traveling at about 65 mph hit a hit a bump in the road on a small county road that sent my truck front steering jerking back and forth and I had to pull off the road to get it back under control. I thought it was a tire issue and got out and look at tires and shocks and linkage to find nothing wrong. Second is the worst, I had my family in the truck on the way home and I hit another bump in the road when it started again. I this is very unnerving and I don't feel safe driving especially with family in truck

I was driving my truck on christmas day and hit a small bump on the highway and all of a sudden my truck started shaking violently and was hard to control. I slowed down to approx. 30-35 mph and the shaking went away. This is the second time this has happened. I took it to the dealer and the service tech said it was 'death wobble' and even put that on the service order. They said they would order a new improved stabilizer and that it would it would be take 6-8 weeks to receive the part. I am now with a truck that my wife and grandkids will not ride in and I am concerned about driving it. The shaking is very violent and the vehicle is very hard to control. Then, having to slow to 30mph in a middle lane on the highway is very dangerous and could cause a serious accident.

Driving on highway between 60mph and 80mph if rough patch or bump the road is hit the truck will start shaking violently and the steering will lock up. The problem does not correct itself until the truck is slowed to 30mph. It is starting to happen more often. Today with my kids in the car it happened and I almost hit a concrete highway divider. I have taken the truck to the dealership and was told that Ford is aware of the problem but the parts that are to fix it dont remedy the issue. Basically there's nothing they can do at this point. This problem is going to cause an accident so I am not driving the expensive truck I've had for only a year and definitely will not have my kids in it until something is fixed.

When driving at approximately 50mph and coming into contact with any uneven spots in the road the truck will shake violently and jump up and down left and right so bad that it is impossible to do anything but hit the brakes.when the vehicle slows to about 30mph the shaking subsides and is fine until the next bump in the road.. it happened 3 times in 5 mins and in less than 1 mile distance on a state highway.. this is a serious problem and needs corrected before someone is killed.. the first time it happened I had about 8000 miles on my vehicle, it has happened 10 times since, every time at speeds greater than 50mph

While driving down the highway on a straight away at 60 miles per hour my truck began to shake violently until I slowed down two under 25 miles per hour. I got out to check to see if a tire had blown or a wheel had fallen off because of how dramatic the shaking was. There is no visual sign of anything broken or loose and upon thoroughly checking I startes driving home and the problem did not happen again. Both my passenger and I thought the truck was going to fall apart with us in it.

Multiple times, in the last few months, I have experienced the "death wobble " in my truck. The truck has less than 45000 miles. The death wobble usually happens after a bump in the road, which causes the truck to shake violently. It is extremely scary, losing control of the truck.

I had just stopped for gas and got back on the highway and was in the passing lane going over a bridge deck and as soon as I came off the bridge the truck started shaking horribly. I let the car next to me pass as I slowed down and pulled over. Scared myself and my uncle to death and still had to drive 160 miles to get home. After returning home I have taken it to the local dealer and they replaced damper steering linkage but as our family vehicle we do not feel comfortable in it's safety!

We were pulling 5th wheel at approximately 70 mph. Hit bump in road. Pickup started shimming/shaking violently, almost lost control. Had to reduce speed immediately which is hard to do in traffic. However, this happened again without the fifth wheel driving down the road at approximately 75 mph. Hit bump in road and you have to all but slam on the brakes to get it to stop. Did this again 3-4 times trying to reach dealership. The pickup has been in dealership for three (3) weeks today. The dealership says parts are on back order and they have no idea when part will be in to fix if fixable.

Driving highway speeds, 55 or above and hit a bump on highway the truck violently shakes and will not stop until almost stopping the vehicle. It's happened once at 70 mph on interstate and 5 times going 55 on a state highway. The vehicle has 54000 on it. Just happened Nov 15th and 17th 2019. Very scary and could lead to real safety problems pulling a trailer.

I've had multiple occasions of the death wobble while drive at higher speeds. The latest incident happened yesterday 11/16/20 and was the worst incident so far. Driving down the highway at 60 mph after hitting a couple seems in the concrete the truck began to violently shake and wobble, progressively getting worse over the course of 1-2 mins. I let my foot off the gas peddle and applied slight pressure to the breaks, which made the wobble worse. After finally slowing down to ~30 mph the truck stopped wobbling and shaking. I honestly believe a less experienced driver could have easily lost control and rolled the truck causing a multiple vehicle accident on the highway killing people.

While traveling at 70 mph dry roads, the front end started to shake violently after hitting a bump in the road. After online research I believe this to be the dreaded "death wobble" that numerous people have reported but yet Ford has not fixed the issue for years.
