Front end wheels and suspension vibrates badly when you hit a small rough spot or expansion gap at highway speeds. Ford refers to this as steering oscillation, the internet refers to this as a "death wobble"

At 60 to 65 mph when you hit a bump in the road (going over bridges) the vehicle begins to shake uncontrollably / violently. In two cases I went off the road trying to slow the vehicle down. It will not stop unless you slow down to about 30 mph. In all cases it happened on the highway. Typically while trying to merge into traffic while entering from an on ramp. Most case the bridge joint starts the condition. This has happened 4 times in the last 2 months.

At about 60 mph on a highway and driving in a straight line I experienced a violent shaking in the front end which almost sent me off of the road. The only way to stop it was to slow down rather quickly and regain control. The more I research I found it is named "death wobble". it is a very random and dangerous situation and needs to be fixed. I now have a $46,000 truck that I have absolutely no trust in and will not let my wife drive. It has happened twice now, about a week in between and in different locations.

Hit a bump in the road and truck started shaking uncontrollably. Think what everybody is calling death wobble, was going around 70 and wouldn't come out of it till I got slowed down to 25. Happened 3 days in a row now, wife wont even drive it anymore. This will cause a deadly accident at some point.

Death wobble, the truck will randomly start shaking the steering wheel and front tires at around 60 mph with little to no warning. The truck has veered into other lanes of traffic while this shaking is occuring. The only way to stop the violent shake is to brake extremely hard down to about 30 mph rapidly. This has happened several times so far and is getting progressively worse each time.very dangerous situation. Usually highway driving at around 60-65 mph when this happens.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. After purchasing the vehicle brand new and driving 3,000 miles, it began experiencing the "death wobble". the vehicle was taken back to kerlin motor, Inc. (state road 15, silver lake, in 46982, 260-408-6052) three times. During each visit, the dealer contacted the manufacturer and changed the tie rod and performed a realignment. The dealer currently stated that the front shock absorbers could be the cause of the failure. The repairs were covered under warranty. The contact was concerned of a crash occurring due to the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.

My truck has less than 16,000 miles. I have experienced 'death wobble' on six (6) separate occasions between January 16 and March 18, 2019. All instances occurred at speeds between 60 and 70 mph. Five of the instances occurred on rough roads, state highways and interstate highways. One instance occurred as I went over an expansion joint on an interstate highway bridge. The 'wobble' results in a very violent shaking of the entire front end of the truck and the steering wheel. It feels as if the driver loses complete control of any steering abilities until you are able to slow down to a speed of less than 50 mph. This truck was purchased nine months ago as a new vehicle from courtesy Ford in sauk city, wi. The dealer replace what they described as a stabilizer bar on its first attempt to fix the problem. It is now at courtesy Ford for a second time as they continue to try to fix this problem. I purchased this heavy duty truck in order to safely pull our fifth wheel camper and I no longer feel safe driving this truck.

While traveling at about 65 mph on a controlled access highway, drove over a bridge joint and the steering wheel started to shake violently. The speed needed to be reduced to about 30mph before the shaking stopped. The same condition happed about 2 miles further down the road when a small bump was hit at about 50 mph.

At certain times after going over a bump in the road, the front end shakes uncontrollably. Had the truck back to the dealer twice so far and they replaced the steering dampner both times. Still having issues and another appointment has been scheduled to look at this. This is a life threatening issue that could lead to a fatal accident.

Condition becoming known as death wobble. Have had it happen back in April of 2018. Violently shaking of the front end of the vehicle after hitting a minor bump in highway. Very scary and life threatening. Was supposedly repaired at dealership when it had 17,000 miles. Was fine up until two days ago or 3/12/19. The same problem occurred again and is currently at same dealership being evaluated. Vehicle is a deadly accident waiting to happen. The pickup currently has approximately 32,000 miles.

Death wobble. Truck has about 28,000 miles on it. When going around 70 mph on the interstate I hit an average bump and the whole front end started shaking violently. Actually hurt my wrist from hanging onto the steering wheel. Had to slow down to about 20 mph before I had control again.

2017 F-250 currently has 19,000 miles. 100 percent stock vehicle. Has severe shaking of the steering wheel and wheels of the truck on concrete roads at 60 mph. Has happened four times now. First time happened when pulling a horse trailer on the interstate. The truck had approximately 17,000 miles at the time. Almost caused a horrible accident. Was the most violent shaking I have ever felt in a vehicle. I was able to barely get control of the truck. There needs to be a recall. This is a severe safety problem. That will cause accidents. I thought this was a freak incident but has become more common. Called the death wobble according to the internet. Has happened 3 more times while not pulling anything at highway speed of 60mph and I am scared to drive this truck on highways or interstates.
