I've had to had my suspension and steering components replaced 3 times due to severe steering shake when driving in a highway situation. The shaking is so bad that at times I've come very close to causing a bad accident.

Very scary death wobble.at speeds from 45 to 65 mph I have taken the truck to Ford with no help. The first time they said the tires were bad. Which was very strange because they only had about 20,000 miles on them. So I replaced them at the dealer with factory originals. No fix no help from Ford

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer community Ford (2200 S. walnut St. Bloomington in). The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.

Over the past 5 months (it is now 1/30/2020) the entire front end of the vehicle shakes violently and uncontrollably at a high rate of speed, typically highway speeds, ranging anywhere from 50-80 mph. Although, it has happened at a speed of about 40-45. It happens out of nowhere with no apparent provocation, I.e., hitting a pothole, turning, hitting the brakes, etc. It usually happens when driving in a straight line and nothing seems to make it stop. I've tried hitting the brakes, slamming the brakes, continuing to hold my speed steady, accelerating slightly, and praying to god to make it stop. Nothing works, it just eventually stops but not before traffic clears all around me. It is noticeable from outside the vehicle as I have seen drivers hit the brakes and fall back in traffic around me. The violent shaking makes it difficult to keep the vehicle steady or in my lane of traffic. The violent shaking makes the vehicle bounce all over the road. It makes it impossible to hold the steering wheel steady or straight. It is terrifying and unnerving. I believe it is going to kill me or someone else. I haul trailers with heavy equipment almost daily. Many times I am on the highway or on city streets. If it continues to happen, the damage will be costly and may kill innocent people, including myself. I am afraid to think what will happen if these unexpected, violent shakes happen while I am hauling heavy equipment.

The front end will start shaking violently leading to a potential for the vehicle to go out of control unless you immediately slow down to about 5 mph in the middle of the road. This has happened to me when I hit an improperly filled pot hole on airport road in mobile, al. This also happened to me on highway 612 in lucedale, ms when I traveled from a paved road to a concrete bridge over the escatapa river. Per the internet, there are many other problems of the same nature and so far Ford is refusing to do anything, even though this could lead to a serious or fatal accident.

While driving on the highway at around 70+ mph, the vehicle hit a highway transition bump. The steering wheel jerks one direction and immediately begins to oscillate left and right. The entire cabin of the truck simultaneously begins to shudder violently. This oscillation/shuddering continues until the truck is slowed down to approximately 30 mph. This has occurred to my vehicle three distinct times during two years of ownership. This is colloquially known as the "death wobble" on the internet. It is a known issue with this generation of Ford super duties. The problem was reported to the dealership, who stated this is a known issue. Dealer attempted a remedy by replacing a drag link. Steering is still "wobbly" to this day.

At speeds over 70mph, when hitting a bump in the road I have encountered a severe death wobble / speed wobble. If I slow the vehicle to approximately 30-40mph, the shaking will stop and I can resume driving. This has occurred about a dozen times in the last 3-4 months. It happened 2 times yesterday though.

While traveling on a straight country road at, or slightly above the 55mph speed limit, the front tires of my 2017 Ford F250 4X4 truck suddenly began shaking violently "aka death wobble". the only way to stop this shaking was with hard application of the brakes. The mileage on the truck at the time was slightly over 11,000 miles. This has occurred a number of times since, and often times while traveling on freeways, and at freeway speeds (60- 75 mph). Since the first incident, I have noticed the shaking follows when one of the front tires is jolted by a bump- such as a transition between concrete and asphalt, or other uneven road conditions. This starts the front suspension in a back and forth bouncing motion and violent shaking of the steering wheel. Again requiring sudden braking of the truck in order to stop the wobbling. The most recent incident(s) occurred this past weekend while towing a 5th wheel trailer. The mileage passed 15,000 miles during this trip. Again, the wobble was only stopped by aggressive braking. This occurred twice on this trip. First on the interstate, and the second time on a secondary highway. This is obviously an unsafe condition that could have resulted in an accident- if following vehicles were to able to avoid my trailer.

Experienced 'death wobble' on multiple occasions while driving on a highway. I took the truck to the dealer for repairs. They changed the steering damper under a tsb, but problem still exists. Too the truck back a second time and was told casters adjusted, but problem still exists. Waiting to hear from service manager.

2017 F 250 death wobble, if you hit a small bump the steering wheel will shake, and at high speeds 55mph or greater the front wheels shake so bad you have to almot stop to get it under control.

I have also experienced what is now referred to as the "death wobble" at least six (6) times at higher speeds (70+mph) and once (1) at slower in-town speeds (45mph). Ford has replaced my steering stabilizer once (19,000M) and have been waiting on the second one (29,000M) for 4.5 weeks. To get it to stop the first time, I had to slow to 50mph on a busy interstate while the last two times, it has required me to slow down to under 30 regardless of the initial speed (I had to pull off on the shoulder). It is now bad enough I'm scared to drive it on the highway. A local steering shop will evaluate the F250 this next week - they, apparently, have had good success when replacing the stabilizer with an after-market double stabilizer kit along with new front shocks. It is also my new understanding that it could also include other steering components including the track bar, and tie-rods..... we'll see. The date of the event is the first time I experienced it - it is now the end of January of 2020 and it is still ongoing.

Extreme vibration shaking thru the steering wheel at 50 miles per hour on smooth road. Vehicle experienced these effects on a smooth road with no warning. Vehicle has 10700 miles and is excellent condition. Was very scary as I had to apply aggressive braking to slow the vehicle, felt like the vehicle would run off the road as the steering wheel was violently shaking, like a wheel was coming off. Very serious issue, as there was no warning or indication. After this event researched the issue and found out that this is a known issue and as an owner I should have been notified. I am afraid to drive the vehicle now, it is faulty and un safe, its needs repaired.. I am very surprised that there has been no oversight on this issue with a the minimum a notice of a potential issue. I felt like I had lost temporary control of the vehicle and was going to crash, just not acceptable.

While driving at highway speeds (60mph), I hit a bump in the road and the truck began to shake violently in the front end, to a point that I felt I might lose control. The only way I could get it to stop was to significantly reduce speed. This has happened twice now and is "very" concerning. The second time was at highway speed as well, this time 70mph.

First occurrences were late 2018.2017 Ford F250 lariat FX4 with approximately 14000 miles & zero modifications.. while traveling straight at highway speeds immediately after going over a bump or bridge/overpass transition vehicle begins to shake uncontrollably. Shaking or "death wobble' continues until vehicle is brought to speeds below 40 miles per hour. Ability to steer or keep vehicle in lane is severely compromised. After a series of occurrences in late 2018 vehicle was repaired at dealership January 2019. Steering stabilizer was replaced. The issue did not resurface until approximately 10 months/10000 miles later. In December 2019 after having one previous death wobble experience while driving alone a month or two prior I experienced the death wobble 4 times in a single day while traveling with 5 passengers. At this time and in the first occurrences while traveling with passengers I was able to instruct them to record the violent shaking on their phone and have recordings of 3-4 separate death wobbles.the truck is currently at the dealership and as of 1/23/20 I've been told the original replacement stabilizer is on backorder/un-available/discontinued & the new replacement will not be available until mid-late February. Internet research suggest this is a larger issue and many newer F-250's experience identical issues. Safety to those traveling in and around these vehicles is of immediate concern.

Vehicle started small shimmy while driving over bumps six months ago. Today while traveling 75 mph, small bump lead to such violent shaking of front end I had to slow to 35 mph on interstate. New smyrna dealership indicates they have never heard of this before. Tire pressure is normal. Tires rotated with each oil change. 31,000 miles. Scheduling appointment with dealership asap. This may represent a serious design or mechanical malfunction problem. Many reports of this nature on internet.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle shook uncontrollably without warning. The failure recurred. The contact called the mike willis Ford dealer (337-625-3030, located at 930 beglis pkwy, sulphur, la 70663) and scheduled an appointment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

I am filing this report for the famous Ford Super Duty F250 "death wobble"in the front suspension. I have had my truck back to the dealership numerous times for repair, and I am now on my fourth steering stabilizer installed on my 2017 F250 with only 27K miles on it. The first occurrence of the death wobble happened within 10K miles, and subsequently about every 3-5K miles thereafter. This issue happens when traveling at highway speeds, and when a bump or irregularity in the road comes up. The uncontrollable shaking of the entire truck renders it out of control, and can only be remedied by coming to a complete stop. It happened the first time, and threw my wife and I into the median of the interstate while going about 75mph. It doesn't matter if you're going straight, around a curve, etc. I tried to get Ford to do a buyback on this vehicle, to no avail. They hide behind the il lemon law verbiage instead of owning the issue. This vehicle is most certainly a death trap, and I will not let any of my family drive this particular vehicle just because of the death wobble. I am at a loss on what to do about this. I spent my hard earned money on this truck, only to have it be a serious safety hazard to those riding in it, and to anyone else on the road around it when the death wobble happens. The only thing left is legal action I guess, or park it in the front yard and have it be an $80,000 flower pot. Please help!!

My truck has had the front end death wobble since the middle of 2019. I have had it in the Ford dealership for repair. They replaced the steering stabilizer and told me they added some shims to correct an caster problem.. they returned the truck to me.shortly after that it began to wobble again. I contacted the same dealer to have it looked at again. I scheduled it, but they immediately told me that the next fix would require parts that were not available. So I am waiting on parts that are supposedly 60-90 days out. There are many documented complaints on this same issue and Ford will not do anything about the unsafe condition. Ford dealers are telling customers that these trucks are not designed to be driven faster than 70 mph or to spend out of pocket money to buy aftermarket parts that are known fixes for the problem. Bottom line is my 60K$ truck is still in warranty and a death trap to drive and Ford is not aggressively fixing the problem. The death wobble happens at anywhere from 50+mph when you encounter an uneven portion of road like a expansion joint at a bridge. The wobble will not stop until you are below 30 mph. When the wobble occurs it is not uncommon that you loose control causing you to be in the oncoming lane of traffic.
