Traveling on interstate 80 westbound going onto the bridge in joliet truck started death wobble after crossing from the ramp to the deck. Oscilition did not stop till I dropped below 55 mph.

I was traveling down a highway at around 70 mph when I hit a small bump. That bump caused the steering wheel and front end suspension go into what has been described as a "death wobble." It shook uncontrollably and did not stop until I was able to slow down to around 25 mph. During that time the brakes did not work and I did not have the capability of turning to one side or the other. This is a very dangerous thing that could cause some major problems. It has happened multiple times since then. This is something that must be corrected and Ford must be held accountable.

While driving down the interstate, I crossed a bridge with a normal joint in the roadway, my vehicle began to violently shaking from the front end. The steering wheel began to jar left and right and the vehicle was beginning to drift lanes. I was able to slow the vehicle and move the shoulder of the interstate. Once I deaccelerated to around 15 mph, the shaking subsided. The vehicle is "stock" with no modifications.

When driving the vehicle down the road between 60mph and 75 mph, the front end of the truck begins to extremely violently shake; almost feeling like the wheels are quickly jumping off the ground back and forth. The vehicle becomes uncontrollable when this happens and you have to slow down to approx 30 mph to get it to stop shaking. The vehicle has only 48,500 miles on it. It was bought to Ford explaining the problem, the replaced the steering stabilizer. I drove 1 mild down the road and brought it right back telling them that did not fix the issue. They told me 3 more parts that they would replace, basically telling me they didn't know but were going to do some exploring just replacing parts at my expense. This is a very common problem with this model of truck known as the "death wobble" and Ford is doing nothing to fix it. It is an extremely dangerous issue that poses a threat to my family and everyone else around me on the road. Please help, this has been going on for months and gets worse the more time that goes by!!

I ran over a pot hole on the highway. The entire truck started to shake vigorously. I lost control of the steering because of the shaking. This is a know problem in Ford trucks called the 'death wobble'. the only thing I could do was slow down until the shaking stopped.

I had vigorous shaking in the steering wheel at 80 mph in Dec 2020. Called dealer and they explained that it is the "death wobble" that is a recall. I got the vehicle in a few days later where they changed the steering dampener. In January, I drove to Texas and back and had the same thing happen 3 times. After slowing to 50 mph, it would stop. Dealer says that it could be a number of issues on the front end that would be outside my warranty coverage, since I am past the 3 years. This is a known issue all over the internet, where after market accessory dealers are making a ton of money to sell us stuff to fix what Ford will not fix. It's dangerous, as seen and as the dealership explained. I don't understand how Ford is not mandated to fix this safety issue.

I've had my 2017 Ford 250 at the local Ford dealer 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I have the death wobble in the steering, they have replaced the steering linkage twice, but never resolved the problem. The dealer sent me home with no solutions to fixing the issue

The 1st time this happened I was driving on a highway going straight at 45 mph and hit a bump and the truck started shaking and the steering wheel was jerking uncontrollable. I slammed on the brakes and it finally stopped shaking at 25mph. I took the truck to the dealership and they told me it was called a death wobble. I couldn't take it in to be fixed at first because they didn't have a so called fix for it!! I finally got it in for repair and they fixed it, I thought. This same occurrence has happened numerous times after taking it to the dealership. Yesterday Jan. 16, 2021 I was driving on an interstate going straight at around 70 mph and hit an uneven part of the road and it happened again, the steering wheel was jerking out of control, the whole truck was shaking terrible. You could even see light thru the door jamb of the chassis. Finally after slamming on the brakes it stopped shaking at 30 mph I do not feel safe driving this truck!! I purchased it new and spent over $75,000. I have been a loyal Ford customer but now I'm scared to purchase anything from Ford again.

There is an issue with the track bar coming loose and causing speed wobble. I had it replaced under warranty at about 35,000 miles. Now I'm at about 41,000 miles and it's really loose again. It causes the truck to sometimes lose control. It happened the other day when only going about 30 miles an hour. Hit a bump in the road and the whole front end started vibrating out of control. I had to slow way down to regain control. The Ford dealer can't get me in for repair until January 12th, 2021.

While driving with the cruise control set at 78 mph (speed limit 80 mph) on I-80 between salt lake city, ut and wendover, nv, I went over a rough patch of road on a turn and the vehicle began to shake violently. The steering wheel was shaking back and forth rapidly and I was unable to maintain my lane through the turn. The shaking continued until I was able to slow to around 20 mph. If there would have been traffic around me I am convinced there would have been an accident. My wife, 4 year old daughter and new born son was in the vehicle. I searched NHTSA for a safety recall on the steering for Ford superduty pickups but found nothing but complaints about this issue. If this is not a recall worthy safety issue then I do not know what is. I no longer trust this truck to safely Transport my family. I have maintained this vehicle well and it has only 36,000 miles on it.

Was on the highway and the truck started shaking violently and I lost control of the steering. Happened twice. Just had to take my foot off the gas, hope for the best and get off the highway. Took it to a dealership and they replaced the steering damper. On the way from Maine to Florida, it happened again in South Carolina. Truck again is shaking at highway speed and no control of steering. The supposed fix did not actually fix the problem. With a sudden inability to steer, the truck is unsafe to drive at highway speeds.

The steering wheel will start oscillating while driving straight, at highway speeds (approximately 65-75). The steering wheel will start vibrating and will turn into what has been termed the "death wobble". the vehicle shakes so bad that the only way to stop the oscillating is to slow down to 20-30 mph. The oscillating happened when hitting even the slightest uneven patch on the highway. It happened on the interstate as well as local highways. Some of these roads have very recently been reconditioned. Had there been other vehicles or towing, it would have been very to avoid a wreck as the oscillation causes the vehicle to want to move off to one side or the other and is very difficult to control.

On four separate occasions the vehicle has gone into an uncontrollable front end wobble upon hitting rough pavement on the interstate at speeds of 70-75 mph. The wobble causes the vehicle to shake violently for approximately 3-6 seconds and can only be stopped by gradually reducing speed. Steering is not functional during the wobble. The first two times (October 2019) the vehicle was towing a trailer. The last two times (December 2020) the vehicle had only two passengers in the cab and a few pieces of luggage in the bed of the truck. In May 2020 Ford installed a steering linkage damper to correct the problem. That obviously did not solve the problem, and following the December 2020 incidents, substantial front-end repairs were required. The vehicle only has 36K miles on it.

Upon encountering a bumpy surface on southbound I-25 near co. Springs at approx. 70 mph, the front of my truck began shaking violently and continued to do so until I had it almost stopped. This happened once more about an hour later. I have since been driving it more slowly with repeated promises by Ford that they will fix it "once they have the parts"
